Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Building Engineer to help manage and maintain our portfolio of commercial properties throughout Central Massachusetts.
This is a hands-on role responsible for building maintenance, preventative maintenance, tenant requests, vendor coordination, and ensuring our properties operate safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance across multiple commercial properties.
- Troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building issues.
- Perform basic repairs including lighting, doors, locks, fixtures, and minor carpentry.
- Monitor HVAC and mechanical equipment, including rooftop units and boilers.
- Respond to tenant maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and service vendors.
- Maintain preventative maintenance schedules for building equipment.
- Assist with fire alarm, sprinkler, elevator, and other required inspections.
- Identify maintenance and safety concerns before they become larger issues.
- Respond to occasional emergency or after-hours maintenance needs.
- Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and equipment servicing.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of commercial building maintenance, facilities, or building engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and general repair skills.
- Ability to manage maintenance needs across multiple properties.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel between properties throughout Central Massachusetts.
- HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, OSHA, or other relevant licenses/certifications are a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
