Summary of the Job:
The role requires strong project management, communication, organization, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and lead initiatives from planning through execution.
About This Role:
Business Development Strategy & Project Management
- Partner with AG, CRE and Corporate/Specialty leaders and Relationship Managers to develop and execute business development priorities and initiatives across assigned banking verticals.
- Lead and manage multiple business development projects simultaneously, coordinating stakeholders, timelines, deliverables, and follow-through from planning through completion.
- Lead and facilitate business development meetings and working sessions, including scheduling, agenda development, meeting preparation, facilitation, documentation, and follow-up.
- Coordinate cross-functional meetings and initiatives to align teams on priorities, projects, events, and business development opportunities.
- Conduct research and provide data, insights, recommendations, and resources to support business development strategies and decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, resources, and business development practices.
Event & Customer Engagement
- Lead the planning and execution of customer, prospect, networking, community, conference, and business development events from strategy through post-event follow-up.
- Partner with AG, CRE and Corporate / Specialty leaders and Relationship Managers to establish event objectives, target audiences, content direction, and desired customer and business outcomes.
- Manage event logistics, including venues, vendors, invitations, registration, attendee communications, hospitality, AV, promotional materials, speakers, and day-of execution.
- Develop agendas, briefing materials, communications, and other content to support customer and prospect engagement.
- Track participation and evaluate event effectiveness to identify opportunities for future engagement and business development.
Marketing & Brand Partnership
- Serve as a key liaison between Business Development, Business Segment Marketing, Enterprise Marketing, Brand, Creative, and other internal partners.
- Coordinate the development of marketing materials, presentations, event communications, digital content, sponsorship assets, and other customer-facing resources.
- Provide business direction and context to marketing partners to ensure initiatives align with business priorities, target audiences, and customer needs.
- Support strategic marketing and brand initiatives that strengthen customer relationships, increase awareness, and support business development objectives.
Budget, Sponsorship & Resource Management
- Develop, maintain, and forecast business development budgets for AG, CRE, and Corporate/Specialty teams and verticals.
- Track expenses, commitments, sponsorships, event costs, and budget utilization, providing leaders with visibility into financial performance and future needs.
- Monitor sponsorships, memberships, conference participation, renewals, and related business development opportunities.
- Coordinate procurement, vendors, contracts, purchasing, promotional materials, and other resources necessary to support business development activities.
- Evaluate investments and opportunities based on business priorities, audience, cost, and potential value.
Salesforce, Data & Business Development Operations
- Serve as a key resource for Salesforce and business development tools, processes, reporting, and best practices.
- Support Relationship Managers and AG, CRE and Corporate/Specialty leaders with Salesforce training, data management, reporting, and effective system utilization.
- Develop and distribute reports and insights related to pipeline, referrals, prospecting, cross-selling, and other business development activities.
- Analyze internal and external data and research to identify opportunities and inform business development decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting, tracking, and business development processes.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with AG, CRE and Corporate/Specialty leaders, Relationship Managers, Marketing, Brand, Creative, Finance, Procurement, Compliance, Operations, vendors, and other internal partners.
- Serve as a central point of coordination between business teams and internal support functions to move initiatives forward efficiently.
- Represent Business Development in cross-functional meetings and working groups and ensure alignment, communication, and follow-through.
- Share best practices and resources across teams to promote consistency and operational effectiveness.
Customer & Relationship Support
- Support Relationship Managers and AG, CRE, and Corporate / Specialty leaders in strengthening customer and prospect relationships through strategic events, outreach, communications, and engagement opportunities.
- Provide resources and coordination to support customer meetings, business development calls, community activities, and strategic relationship initiatives.
- Maintain a customer-focused approach while balancing business objectives, operational requirements, and the overall customer experience.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Understand and comply with bank policies, laws, regulations, and applicable BSA/AML requirements.
- Ensure business development activities, events, sponsorships, marketing materials, and vendor engagements adhere to applicable bank policies and requirements.
- Complete required compliance training and follow established procedures and controls.
The Ideal Candidate for This Role:
Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Project Management, or related field.
- Experience in business development, marketing, project management, event strategy and execution, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex projects, competing priorities, deadlines, budgets, and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop executive-ready presentations, agendas, reports, and business communications.
- Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with and influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Salesforce, CRM platforms, data analysis, or business development tools.
- Experience managing budgets, vendors, procurement, sponsorships, and external business partners.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive initiatives through successful completion.
Compensation:
This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.
Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
Work Environment:
It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week.
