Business Development Manager Jobs in Raleigh: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a business development manager job in Raleigh?
The strongest path into a business development manager role in Raleigh is targeting the city's dense technology and life sciences sectors, where companies in and around Research Triangle Park hire consistently. Candidates who can speak to SaaS sales cycles, contract negotiation, or channel partnerships stand out. Networking through the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and local tech meetups also opens doors that cold applications alone won't.
Which companies hire business development managers in Raleigh?

Raleigh attracts a mix of established enterprise software firms, regional healthcare systems, and fast-growing startups, giving candidates options across company sizes and growth stages.
Are there remote business development manager jobs in Raleigh?
Yes, though it depends on the role, since positions focused on outbound prospecting and relationship building often require an in-person presence, while strategy and account-management-heavy roles lean more flexible. About 46% of business development manager openings tied to Raleigh are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with most flexibility concentrated in technology and software companies headquartered in or near North Hills.
How can I get a business development manager job in Raleigh with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Raleigh is a sales development representative or inside sales role at one of the many SaaS or healthcare IT companies in the Research Triangle Park area, where promotion to business development manager within two to three years is a well-worn path. Raleigh's startup community, supported by resources like the American Underground and NC IDEA, also hires junior business development associates who grow quickly into full management roles.
