- Data Modeling: Architect and optimize the data models behind our analytical platforms for accuracy, scalability, and performance, and continuously improve the collection and reporting workflows that feed them.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Work with Sales, Product Management, and Strategy to turn open business questions into analytical work, and own the reporting cadence that supports their planning.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field — Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science — or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years in business intelligence, data analysis, or a similar analytical role.
- Advanced SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Hands-on experience with Tableau, Power BI, or a comparable visualization platform.
- Strong grounding in data modeling, relational databases, and data warehousing.

Business Intelligence Engineer Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a business intelligence engineer job in Atlanta?
Target Atlanta's strongest hiring sectors: financial services firms anchored in Buckhead, health systems and insurers clustered around Midtown and the medical district, and technology companies throughout the Perimeter Center area. Candidates who stand out locally combine SQL and data warehouse proficiency with experience in cloud platforms like Snowflake or Databricks. A portfolio showing end-to-end BI delivery, from data modeling to executive dashboards, gives you a clear edge over generalist applicants in this market.
Which companies hire business intelligence engineers in Atlanta?
Employers hiring business intelligence engineers in Atlanta right now include BDO, Cisco, and Diasorin, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Atlanta's mix of Fortune 500 headquarters, regional banks, large health systems, and fast-growing technology firms means openings appear across employer types and sizes throughout the metro.
Are there remote business intelligence engineer jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, business intelligence engineering is well-suited to remote and hybrid arrangements since the work is analytical and desk-based rather than hands-on. About 100% of business intelligence engineer openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly Atlanta employers have adopted flexible models. Dashboard development, data pipeline work, and reporting are the functions most commonly offered remotely by Atlanta-based teams.
How can I get a business intelligence engineer job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is landing an analyst or data analyst role at one of the city's large health systems, insurers, or fintech employers, then building toward BI engineering from within. Atlanta employers frequently promote internally from analytics and reporting functions. Completing a project-based portfolio using publicly available datasets, earning a cloud certification such as AWS or Google Cloud, and networking through Atlanta's active data and analytics meetup scene all accelerate that transition significantly.
