RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute the finance and accounting transformation roadmap established by finance leadership, delivering assigned initiatives on schedule and to the agreed scope.

- Support the Vice President, Controller in his or her role as platform owner by preparing recommendations, impact analysis, and documentation for decisions regarding the chart of accounts, financial dimensions, and system-enforced accounting controls.

- Coordinate across Procurement, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Accounting, Tax, and Information Technology to gather requirements, align on design, and escalate competing priorities for resolution.
- Identify and execute opportunities to apply artificial intelligence within finance processes, including AI-assisted invoice capture and coding, document intelligence, anomaly and exception detection, reconciliation support, and AI assistants embedded in Dynamics 365 and Medius.
- Configure, test, tune, and monitor AI-enabled functionality in production, including confidence thresholds, exception routing, and human review checkpoints, and track accuracy and adoption against expected benefit.
- Apply the Company's governance standards for AI use in finance, ensuring approved tools and use cases, human review requirements, data handling standards, and audit evidence retention are followed in everything delivered.
- Prepare financial analysis supporting recommended enhancements, including estimated benefit, implementation cost and effort, and associated risk, to inform leadership prioritization decisions.
- Ensure new and current systems and processes adhere to the Company's purchasing, approval, and audit policies.
- Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies and procedures, ensuring accurate and consistent financial reporting across all business units and that documentation is accessible and understandable to stakeholders.
- Review and analyze information to monitor compliance with accounting policies and procedures, identifying and addressing discrepancies or errors.
- Deliver training and support to accounting and finance staff on policies, procedures, and systems, including practical guidance on using AI-enabled tools effectively and reviewing their output appropriately.
- Support user adoption and change management for new processes and tools, working directly with end users to resolve issues and reinforce correct usage.
- Maintain history and documentation for system configuration, process design decisions, and policy changes.
- Report progress, risks, and issues on assigned initiatives to the Vice President, Controller and other stakeholders on a regular cadence.
- Stay current with accounting standards, regulations, and developments in finance technology and AI, bringing relevant capabilities to leadership's attention.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Core finance and accounting process improvement experience across procure-to-pay, record-to-report, and order-to-cash, with strong knowledge of controls and processes; additional experience in FP&A, tax, treasury, or project accounting a plus.

- Sound judgment regarding where AI is appropriate in a controlled financial environment and where human review must be preserved, and the discipline to work within established governance standards.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including U.S. GAAP and IFRS, and the ability to translate them into system and process requirements.
- Solid project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Business Manager Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a business manager job in Jacksonville?
Target Jacksonville's highest-volume sectors: healthcare systems along the Southside corridor, logistics and distribution operations near the port and I-95, regional financial services firms Downtown, and multi-unit retail anchored around the St. Johns Town Center area. Candidates who can demonstrate P&L ownership, cross-functional team leadership, and experience with operational metrics stand out. Tailoring your resume to the specific industry, whether healthcare operations or retail management, makes a measurable difference in this market.
Which companies hire business managers in Jacksonville?
Employers hiring business managers in Jacksonville right now include Cargo, UF Health, and Tepuy Tribe, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Jacksonville's employer mix skews toward large healthcare networks, regional banks and insurance carriers, national logistics companies with major facilities near the port, and multi-location retail and hospitality groups with corporate functions based locally.
Are there remote business manager jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, though availability depends on the role: business managers with hands-on operational or facility responsibilities are typically on-site, while those in planning, analytics, or account-side functions are more often hybrid. About 33% of business manager openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting national trends in the field. Financial services and technology-adjacent firms in Jacksonville's Southside and Downtown office corridors offer the most hybrid arrangements.
How can I get a business manager job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is through assistant manager or operations coordinator roles at the city's large healthcare systems, logistics providers, or multi-unit retail groups, which regularly hire and promote from within. Gaining experience with scheduling, vendor coordination, or budget tracking in any of these environments builds a direct bridge to business manager titles. Jacksonville's military veteran community also benefits from transition programs at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, where operational leadership backgrounds translate well to civilian management roles.
