Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Buyer with ample experience in nutraceutical manufacturing to join our team, a key player responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory across various categories. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence procurement strategies, optimize media investments, and drive impactful marketing campaigns. As a Buyer, you will leverage your expertise in media buying, market research, and digital marketing to ensure our organization secures the best products and advertising opportunities that align with our business goals. Your proactive approach and negotiation skills will help us build strong vendor relationships while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.
Position Summary
1.1 Responsible for managing and coordinating assigned sourcing activities for Manufacturing Plants including all direct materials and services and indirect categories.
1.2 No Direct Reports
1.3 Key liaison with internal stakeholders and assigned external suppliers
1.4 Travel up to 10% locally as required for supplier meetings
1.5 Status: Exempt
Responsibilities
2.1 Essential Duties – Duty order does not necessarily indicate duty importance.
2.1.1 Follow all company policies and procedures.
2.1.2 Follow and ensure compliance with the quality system and cGMP programs.
2.1.3 Collaborate with site leadership and stakeholders on effectively managing supply base to ensure high level of performance and continuity of supply.
2.1.4 Responsible for supporting departmental objectives of delivering established cost savings targets through competitive bidding process and effective negotiation of supply and service agreements. Ensure complete contract compliance.
2.1.5 Timely completion of assigned work to meet departmental KPI targets
2.1.6 Review, update, and maintain purchase order details/notes until the order is closed.
2.1.7 Stay abreast of market and industry trends to benchmark and develop Procurement best practices. Provide support for sourcing decisions considering total value to the Company including quality, service, technology, risk, compliance, and cost.
2.1.8 Follow established standard work and provide feedback to refine as needed

2.2.1 Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
3.1 Credentials/Knowledge
3.1.1 Must have a college degree or equivalent.
3.1.3 Five years’ work experience in sourcing in the Nutraceutical and/or Supplements industry mandatory
3.1.4 No certifications or licenses required.
3.1.5 Must have complex math skills.
3.1.6 Complex reading skills required.
3.1.7 Complex computer skills needed.
3.1.8 English proficiency required. Working knowledge of Spanish a plus
3.1.9 Must have complex writing skills.
3.1.10 Must be willing to learn new tasks and procedures.
3.1.11 Ability to efficiently and effectively perform all essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation
3.1.12 Maintains a regular and dependable on-site work attendance record with few instances of unplanned and/or unexpected absence.

3.2.1 Computer, phone, copier, scanner, fax machine.
3.3 Typical Physical Requirements
3.3.1 Involves a variety of physical activities, including:
- Repetitive Motions
- Sitting
- Walking
- Ability to lift up to 10kg

3.4.1 Shared office environment
3.4.2 Production Area includes these environmental conditions:
- Exposure to food ingredients, including food allergens, in free-floating powder form.
- Moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and risk of electrical shock.
- Noise levels are usually moderate and often constant.
- Protective equipment such as gloves, hearing protection, masks, back belts, or cGMP attire suits may be required or recommended in certain situations.
