Business Operations Analyst Jobs in Alaska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business operations analyst in Alaska?
Business operations analysts in Alaska do not require a state-issued license, but most employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a closely related field. Candidates who pursue certifications such as the Certified Business Analysis Professional or a Project Management Professional credential stand out in Alaska's competitive public-sector and energy markets. Building experience through internships with state agencies or Alaska-based corporations is the most direct path into the role.
How much do business operations analysts make in Alaska?
Business operations analysts in Alaska earn a median of about $94,740 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $66,780 for the lowest 10% to over $133,470 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business operations analysts in Alaska?
Alaska business operations analyst roles are posted by Ryder System, ADT, and CVS Health and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Alaska's mix of large energy operators, federal contractors, and state health and social services agencies creates a diverse range of operational analyst positions beyond what most states of similar size offer.
Which Alaska cities have the most business operations analyst jobs?
Juneau, Anchorage, and Alaska account for the largest share of business operations analyst openings in Alaska. Anchorage dominates as the commercial and administrative center, home to major corporate headquarters, federal offices, and the Alaska Native health system, while Fairbanks and Juneau contribute openings tied to the University of Alaska, military installations, and state government agencies.
Are there remote business operations analyst jobs in Alaska?
Yes, and more than most fields, since business operations analysis is fundamentally desk-based and data-driven work that adapts well to remote arrangements. About 20% of business operations analyst openings tied to Alaska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how widely distributed Alaska's workforce is across the state. Process documentation, reporting, and stakeholder analysis tasks are the functions most commonly performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a business operations analyst in Alaska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an administrative analyst or program coordinator role within a state agency or large Alaska employer such as the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium or an energy company like Hilcorp Alaska. Many candidates move laterally from project support, data entry, or office operations roles, building process improvement exposure on the job. Earning a foundational certification such as a Lean Six Sigma White Belt or completing coursework through the University of Alaska system strengthens early-career applications considerably.
Where can I find and apply to business operations analyst jobs in Alaska?
