About the Role
The Associate Project Manager & Business Analyst is an entry-level role on Delinea’s Global Operations team — built for an early-career analyst who loves turning data into decisions and wants to grow into a project leader. Reporting to the VP of Operation and partnering with Program and Project Managers across the business, you’ll sit at the intersection of analytics and execution: building the dashboards and models that show how the business is running and helping drive the projects that make it run better. You’ll work hands-on with data and AI tools, surface insight for leaders, and keep high-visibility operational programs on track. It’s a rare chance to apply real analytics skills from day one, put your work in front of senior leaders, and build a foundation for a career in operations, analytics, or program management at a fast-scaling cybersecurity company.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and models that turn operational data into clear insight for the team and senior leaders — using tools like Excel, Claude, or Power BI.
- Translate business questions and stakeholder requirements into analyses, dashboards, and recommendations — connecting data to decisions for executive teams.
- Pull, clean, and analyze data from multiple systems to spot trends, risks, and opportunities, and tell the story behind the numbers.
- Identify and build automations — using AI assistants, scripting, and modern tools — that eliminate manual work and compound the team’s productivity over time.
- Partner with Program and Project Managers to plan, track, and coordinate operational initiatives — owning project tasks, timelines, action logs, and status updates.
- Prepare materials and reporting for operating reviews — weekly status, steering committees, quarterly summits and leadership updates — ensuring the data is accurate and current.
- Coordinate meetings and operating cadences: scheduling, building agendas, capturing notes and decisions, and following up on action items to closure.
- Document and improve processes and workflows, helping the team standardize and scale how work gets done across a global organization.
What You’ll Need
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business analytics, data analytics, information systems, business, or a related field — recent and upcoming graduates are encouraged to apply.
- 0–3 years of experience (including internships, co-ops, or graduate projects) in analytics, business analysis, project coordination, or operations.
- Hands-on experience working with data — comfort with Excel and at least one visualization tool such as Power BI.
- A knack for translating business needs into clear analysis, dashboards, and recommendations, and for presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Curiosity about AI and automation, and an interest in using modern tools — including AI assistants and agentic workflows — to work smarter.
- Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and a collaborative, cross-functional mindset.
- A self-starting, results-oriented attitude and a genuine desire to learn and grow.
We’d Love to See
- A master’s degree or specialized coursework in business or data analytics — for example machine learning, predictive and prescriptive analytics, process and supply-chain analytics, or simulation.
- Exposure to cybersecurity, SaaS, fintech, or other data-rich, fast-moving industries.
- Experience building data pipelines or dashboards or working with modern data-stack tools such as Snowflake, dbt, or GitHub.
- A portfolio of analytics work — academic, internship, competition, or personal projects — in any domain you’re passionate about, from finance and fraud to sports analytics.
- Interest in AI engineering, process automation, or building tools that make teams faster.
Location
This role is open to candidates based in the United States, with flexibility for remote work and a preference for proximity to a Delinea hub. Occasional travel (approximately 5–10%) may be offered to connect with teammates, attend operating reviews, and see the business firsthand.

Business Operations Analyst Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business operations analyst in California?
Most business operations analyst positions in California require a bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, finance, or a related field, with no state-issued license needed for the role itself. California employers, especially in technology and financial services, frequently favor candidates who hold a Lean Six Sigma certification or a Project Management Professional credential. Starting in coordinator or junior analyst roles at large Bay Area or Los Angeles employers is the most common path to full analyst-level positions.
How much do business operations analysts make in California?
Business operations analysts in California earn a median of about $87,570 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $46,410 for the lowest 10% to over $169,160 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business operations analysts in California?
Employers hiring business operations analysts in California right now include Google, TikTok, and Intuit, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's concentration of large technology headquarters, integrated health systems, and financial institutions means demand is distributed across multiple industries rather than a single sector.
Which California cities have the most business operations analyst jobs?
San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Jose have the most business operations analyst openings in California. The Bay Area's density of technology headquarters drives a significant share of postings, while Los Angeles draws demand from entertainment, media, and healthcare organizations, and San Diego's biotech and defense sectors sustain a steady analyst pipeline outside the two largest metros.
Are there remote business operations analyst jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 30% of business operations analyst openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how desk-based and analytically focused the role is by nature. The tasks most commonly performed remotely include data reporting, process documentation, and cross-functional project coordination, while roles requiring on-site systems work or facilities oversight tend to stay in-person.
How can I get hired as a business operations analyst in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to operations coordinator or business analyst associate roles, which large California employers like Kaiser Permanente, Salesforce, and Disney use as structured entry points for candidates without full analyst experience. A Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification or completion of a Google Project Management certificate signals analytical readiness and gives early-career candidates a concrete edge. California community colleges also offer business operations coursework that maps directly to the entry-level skills these employers screen for.
Where can I find and apply to business operations analyst jobs in California?
You can find and apply to business operations analyst jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings across industries and experience levels. Find a role that fits and apply directly.
