Business Operations Analyst Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business operations analyst in Texas?
Most business operations analyst roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, finance, or a related field, and the role carries no state-issued license. Texas employers, particularly in Houston's energy sector and Dallas-Fort Worth's financial and technology industries, consistently prioritize candidates with demonstrated process improvement experience, proficiency in analytics tools, and certifications such as PMP or Lean Six Sigma alongside their degree.
How much do business operations analysts make in Texas?
Business operations analysts in Texas earn a median of about $80,820 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $47,310 for the lowest 10% to over $135,450 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business operations analysts in Texas?
Employers hiring business operations analysts in Texas right now include Apple, SRS Distribution, and Citi, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major energy companies, and large healthcare systems means consistent demand across the state year-round.
Which Texas cities have the most business operations analyst jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston have the most business operations analyst openings in Texas. Houston leads on the strength of its energy and logistics industries, Dallas-Fort Worth draws volume from its dense cluster of financial services firms, technology companies, and corporate headquarters, and Austin's fast-growing technology and startup ecosystem drives steady demand for analysts who can support rapid organizational scaling.
Are there remote business operations analyst jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 26% of business operations analyst openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of the work. The portions of the role focused on data reporting, process documentation, and cross-functional project coordination translate well to remote arrangements, while roles tied to warehouse, plant, or on-site operational teams tend to require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a business operations analyst in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is targeting operations coordinator or junior analyst roles at large Texas employers such as energy companies in Houston or technology firms in Austin and Dallas, which regularly bring on recent graduates for rotational analyst programs. Lateral moves from customer operations, supply chain coordination, or financial analyst roles are common entry points. Building proficiency in Excel, SQL, or a business intelligence tool, combined with a Lean Six Sigma White or Yellow Belt certification, gives candidates a concrete edge over applicants with similar educational backgrounds.
