Business Systems Analyst Jobs in Oregon: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business systems analyst in Oregon?
Business systems analyst work in Oregon does not require a state-issued license, so entry comes through education and demonstrated skills. Most Oregon employers expect at minimum a bachelor's degree in information systems, business, or computer science. From there, candidates build experience through project work, internal IT or operations roles, or entry-level data analyst positions. Earning an IIBA credential such as the CCBA or CBAP gives candidates a competitive edge with Oregon's larger employers in healthcare and technology.
How much do business systems analysts make in Oregon?
Business systems analysts in Oregon earn a median of about $121,620 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,530 for the lowest 10% to over $168,380 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business systems analysts in Oregon?
Employers hiring business systems analysts in Oregon right now include Lam Research, Moda Health, and Agility Robotics, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Oregon's concentration of healthcare networks, regional financial institutions, and global technology companies headquartered in the Portland metro creates consistent year-round demand for this role.
Which Oregon cities have the most business systems analyst jobs?
Portland, Salem, and Hillsboro have the most business systems analyst openings in Oregon. Portland dominates as the state's largest metro and home to major technology campuses, health systems, and financial services firms, while Beaverton draws demand from Nike's global headquarters and its network of technology vendors, and Salem generates openings through state government agencies and healthcare organizations serving the Willamette Valley.
Are there remote business systems analyst jobs in Oregon?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 83% of business systems analyst openings tied to Oregon are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well the analytical and documentation work of this role translates to distributed settings. Requirements gathering, system documentation, and stakeholder reporting are the functions most commonly performed fully remote, while go-live support and on-site workshop facilitation more often require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a business systems analyst in Oregon with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a business operations, project coordinator, or IT support role within a large Oregon organization, then taking on systems documentation or process improvement work. Oregon Health and Science University, Providence Health, and Oregon state agencies regularly hire associate or junior analyst roles where the primary requirement is analytical thinking rather than years of experience. Building a portfolio of process maps or requirements documents and earning the IIBA Entry Certificate in Business Analysis strengthens a new candidate's application considerably.
Where can I find and apply to business systems analyst jobs in Oregon?
You can find and apply to business systems analyst jobs in Oregon on Migrate Mate, which lists current Oregon openings across industries and experience levels. Search the listings to find roles that match your background and apply directly to the ones that fit.
