Business Systems Analyst Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business systems analyst in Washington?
Washington does not require a state-issued license to work as a business systems analyst, so the path runs through education and professional certification. Most Washington employers expect a bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems, computer science, or a related field. Earning a Certified Business Analysis Professional credential from the International Institute of Business Analysis, or a PMI-PBA from the Project Management Institute, signals readiness for mid-level and senior roles in the state's technology and healthcare sectors.
How much do business systems analysts make in Washington?
Business systems analysts in Washington earn a median of about $129,410 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $74,470 for the lowest 10% to over $197,600 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business systems analysts in Washington?
Employers hiring business systems analysts in Washington right now include Amazon, AZAD Technology Partners, and University Of Washington, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Washington's concentration of large technology headquarters, aerospace firms, and integrated health systems means demand is broad and consistent across the private sector.
Which Washington cities have the most business systems analyst jobs?
Seattle, Bellevue, and Vancouver account for the largest share of business systems analyst openings in Washington. Seattle and Bellevue drive volume through the region's technology and cloud-computing employers, while Olympia draws a steady stream of openings from state government agencies and public health organizations that rely on analysts to manage enterprise systems.
Are there remote business systems analyst jobs in Washington?
Yes, and more than most fields. Business systems analysis is desk-based and documentation-heavy, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 54% of business systems analyst openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how widely Washington technology employers have adopted flexible work models. Requirements gathering and stakeholder meetings are the parts most likely to require occasional on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a business systems analyst in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a business operations, project coordinator, or data analyst role at a Washington employer that already knows your work. Microsoft, Boeing, and Providence Health all run associate analyst or rotational programs that consider candidates with limited direct experience if they hold relevant coursework or an entry-level IIBA certification. Building a portfolio of process-mapping and requirements documentation samples, even from coursework or volunteer projects, gives Washington hiring managers something concrete to evaluate alongside your application.
Where can I find and apply to business systems analyst jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to business systems analyst jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current Washington openings updated regularly. Find roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to each employer through the listing.
