Description
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician/CAD Designer to join our Land Development team. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. As an Engineering Technician you would be responsible for using standard drafting practices and procedures, with a strong attention to detail, to assist with tasks related to a variety of engineering and construction projects. The Engineering Technician will modify and create design plans and drawings using computer aided design (CAD) programs under the direction of a designer or engineer.
Requirements
- Reviews project scope and confers with project engineer concerning tasks required such as plan preparation, evaluation of field conditions, design requirements, and/or reports
- Uses computer equipment including engineering and design modeling software to prepare engineering and design documents
- Support and communicate with engineers, project managers and other supervisors throughout all stages of the drafting, design and construction process
- Create, edit, and modify CAD drawings
- Apply Westwood Company CAD standard, practices, and procedures in creating and modifying CAD drawings
- Collaborate in a team environment
- Coordinate filing, storage, and retrieval of drawings and documents
- Plot and check drawings
- Willing to take on other duties as assigned
- Performs basic design tasks
Required Skills
- Basic engineering knowledge along with current knowledge of industry trends, technology, codes and regulations
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Proficient in AutoCAD and other discipline specific software
- Possess basic mathematical skills and analytical abilities
- Attention to detail, self-motivated and a team player
- Working Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam
- Willingness to learn and grow is a must
Education And Experience
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- Experience and knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Design skills and knowledge
- 1-5 Years of industry specific Land Development experience
