Base Salary: $220,000 - $300,000

Total Compensation: Up to $300,000 - $400,000, including bonus and competitive equity

Full-time position

This is an opportunity to work on the geometry and data infrastructure behind next-generation CAD foundation models, building systems that enable AI to understand, reason about, and ultimately engineer physical systems.

THE ROLE

As a CAD / Geometry Engineer, you’ll build the geometry and data pipelines that power advanced AI models for structured 3D parametric CAD.

You’ll work closely with an AI research team and contribute to decisions around data representation, geometry processing, reconstruction, verification, and model architecture.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Build high-performance geometry pipelines for machine learning applications
• Ingest and process CAD data across multiple file formats
• Extract and convert B-rep geometry, feature trees, and parametric data into universal representations for ML
• Work directly inside CAD kernels to extract, manipulate, and reason about solid geometry programmatically
• Develop automated systems for geometry extraction, encoding, reconstruction, and verification
• Collaborate closely with AI researchers as geometry representations evolve alongside the models
• Contribute to architecture and engineering design decisions involving geometry and data representation
• Depending on experience, take ownership of CAD data collection and curation

REQUIRED EDUCATION

• PhD in Computational Geometry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Experience

• 6+ years of experience in computational geometry or CAD kernel engineering
• Strong hands-on experience working with B-reps and parametric geometry
• Experience in design and manufacturing, aerospace, robotics, or a closely related domain
• Startup experience is preferred

Technical Skills

• Strong C++ or Python programming skills for geometry processing
• Practical experience with CAD or geometry kernels
• Strong understanding of computational geometry and solid modeling fundamentals

NICE TO HAVE

• Hands-on experience with Parasolid, ACIS, or OpenCASCADE
• Experience with NURBS and solid modeling
• Direct Parasolid experience
• Experience with high-performance data pipelines
• Experience contributing to AI/ML systems involving structured geometry

THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR

This position is not primarily a CAD software-user role.

Candidates whose experience is limited to being a SolidWorks/Fusion power user or holding CAD software certifications, without experience in geometry algorithms, CAD kernels, computational geometry, or geometry pipelines, may not be a fit.

You’ll be working on core geometry infrastructure for foundation-model-scale AI.

The team has already developed a generative model for structured 3D parametric CAD and is continuing development toward increasingly capable AI systems for engineering design.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

• Own critical parts of the model’s geometry backbone
• Work directly with B-reps, parametric data, and feature trees
• Collaborate closely with AI researchers
• Influence how geometry is represented and consumed by foundation models
• Work on problems spanning CAD, computational geometry, manufacturing, and AI

TEAM

You’ll join a small, highly technical team with a flat structure, working closely with experienced researchers, engineers, and founders. The team includes backgrounds spanning Meta, Autodesk Research, Stanford, MIT, Samsung Research, and CMU.
