Care Assistant Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a care assistant job in Boston?
The strongest hiring in Boston comes from the Longwood Medical Area's hospital networks, senior living facilities in Back Bay and Brookline, and home health agencies serving neighborhoods like Dorchester and Roxbury. Candidates who stand out typically hold CPR certification, have hands-on caregiving experience even from informal settings, and can demonstrate reliability with vulnerable populations. Targeting large healthcare systems and assisted living groups in Greater Boston gives you the widest pool of openings.
Which companies hire care assistants in Boston?
Companies currently hiring care assistants in Boston include Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Carbon Health, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Boston's market is shaped by a dense cluster of academic medical centers, nonprofit senior care organizations, and private home health agencies serving the metro area.
Are there remote care assistant jobs in Boston?
Yes, though remote opportunities are rare for hands-on caregiving roles and more common in care coordination or administrative support positions. About 3% of care assistant openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the in-person nature of most direct care work. The roles most likely to offer remote flexibility involve care scheduling, case management support, or telehealth assistance.
How can I get a care assistant job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is through home health agencies, which regularly hire entry-level candidates and provide on-the-job training. Assisted living communities in neighborhoods like Jamaica Plain and the South End also take on new graduates and career changers for companion or personal care aide roles. Volunteering with Boston-area elder services organizations or completing a short certified nursing assistant program can distinguish you from other applicants with no prior paid experience.
Which industries hire the most care assistants in Boston?
Most care assistant openings in Boston sit in Healthcare & Medical Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Boston's outsized concentration of teaching hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community health organizations drives consistently high demand across those sectors.
