Job Summary
Agility Orthopedics has been a leading provider of outstanding orthopedic care for over forty years. Our mission is to keep patients moving and improve their quality of life through dedicated orthopedic services.
We are seeking a friendly and organized Patient Services Representative (PSR) to join our orthopedic physical therapy team. This role is the first point of contact for our patients and plays a key part in creating a positive, efficient clinic experience.
Main location is Stoneham, MA; however, may be able to travel to Malden, MA location once per month.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Experience
- Greet and assist patients in a professional and compassionate manner
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
- Provide patients with information regarding appointments, services, and clinic policies
Scheduling & Clinic Coordination
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments
- Coordinate therapist schedules and manage daily clinic flow
- Communicate effectively with therapists regarding patient needs and schedule changes
- Assist MD Front Desk with check-in and out on WelcomeWare for our off site locations.
Insurance & Financial Services
- Verify insurance benefits and eligibility
- Obtain referrals and prior authorizations when required
- Collect copays, coinsurance, and outstanding balances
- Educate patients on insurance coverage and financial responsibility
Administrative Duties
- Enter and maintain accurate patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Scan, file, and organize patient documentation
- Assist with reports and other clerical tasks as needed
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft programs
- Previous experience in a medical or physical therapy office
Preferred
- Familiarity with insurance verification and medical terminology
- Bilingual skills (preferred but not required)
- EPIC experience (strongly preferred but not required)
