Category Manager Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a category manager job in Atlanta?
Target Atlanta's strongest hiring sectors: retail and consumer packaged goods companies based in Midtown and Buckhead, healthcare supply chain operations in the Perimeter area, and large distribution and logistics employers along the I-85 corridor. Candidates who stand out typically bring vendor negotiation experience, category analytics skills, and familiarity with planogram or assortment planning tools. Networking through Atlanta's retail and supply chain professional communities also opens doors that online applications alone don't.
Which companies hire category managers in Atlanta?
Atlanta category manager roles are posted by TK Elevator, Inspire Brands, and The Home Depot and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Atlanta attracts both national retail headquarters and regional CPG and distribution companies, meaning openings range from Fortune 500 procurement teams to growing mid-market brands.
Are there remote category manager jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, though it depends on the role: analytical and strategy-focused category manager positions tend to offer remote flexibility, while roles requiring regular store visits, vendor meetings, or warehouse oversight are typically on-site. About 36% of category manager openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common among corporate retail and CPG employers headquartered in Midtown and Buckhead.
How can I get a category manager job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is moving into a category analyst or buyer assistant role at one of the city's retail or CPG employers, which regularly hire early-career candidates. Large Atlanta-area retailers and grocery chains often post analyst or junior buyer positions that feed into category management over two to three years. Proficiency in Excel, syndicated data tools like Nielsen or IRI, and any retail internship experience give candidates a measurable edge in Atlanta's competitive market.
