VP Business Development Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a vp business development in Georgia?
The vp business development role in Georgia has no state-issued license or registration requirement, so the path runs through experience and credentials rather than a licensing board. Most Georgia employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline, and a consistent record of advancement through sales, partnerships, or strategy roles. An MBA from a Georgia institution such as Georgia Tech's Scheller College or Emory's Goizueta Business School carries real weight with Atlanta-area employers and can accelerate the move into a VP-level seat.
How much do VP business developments make in Georgia?
VP business developments in Georgia earn a median of about $159,890 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,560 for the lowest 10% to over $292,490 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire vp business developments in Georgia?
Employers hiring vp business developments in Georgia right now include WSP, Highwire, and SitelogIQ, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Georgia's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and fast-growing technology companies in metro Atlanta means VP-level business development demand stays relatively steady throughout the year.
Which Georgia cities have the most vp business development jobs?
Atlanta and Kennesaw lead Georgia for vp business development openings. Atlanta dominates because it anchors the state's technology, financial services, and logistics sectors and hosts the regional or national headquarters of companies that centralize their growth and partnership leadership there, while Savannah's expanding port operations and Augusta's defense and cybersecurity presence support VP-level hiring in their own right.
Are there remote vp business development jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than most fields. VP business development work is relationship-driven and strategic rather than location-dependent, which makes it one of the more remote-compatible senior roles. About 50% of vp business development openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly Georgia employers have embraced flexible arrangements at the executive level. The most remote-friendly segments are technology and SaaS partnerships, while roles tied to Georgia's logistics corridors or in-person client portfolios tend to require regular on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a vp business development in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is building a foundation in account management, inside sales, or business development representative roles at Georgia-based technology or services companies before moving into senior individual-contributor and then director-level positions. Atlanta employers such as NCR Voyix, Cardlytics, and large consulting firms that maintain Georgia offices regularly hire business development associates and account executives who can grow into VP tracks internally. Completing an MBA at Emory or Georgia Tech while in an associate-level role significantly shortens the timeline, as both schools maintain strong recruiter relationships with metro Atlanta employers.
Where can I find and apply to vp business development jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to vp business development jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings across Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta, and other markets in the state. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly through the listings.
