Entry Level Certified Nurse Midwife Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level certified nurse midwife job?
Entry level certified nurse midwife employers look for a current CNM credential, an active nursing license in your state, and documented clinical hours from your graduate program. Preceptorship experience in labor and delivery, prenatal care, or gynecology gives candidates a clear edge at this stage. Tailoring your application to show comfort with normal and low-risk deliveries helps hiring managers see you as ready to practice from day one.
Which companies hire entry level certified nurse midwifes?
Companies hiring entry level certified nurse midwifes right now include Centra Health, MyMichigan Health, and Vituity, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hospital systems, federally qualified health centers, and private obstetrics and gynecology practices are among the most active employers at this experience level.
Are there remote entry level certified nurse midwife jobs?
Yes, though most certified nurse midwife roles require in-person patient care, a subset of positions include telehealth components or hybrid scheduling. About 7% of entry level certified nurse midwife openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, typically covering prenatal consultations, postpartum follow-ups, and patient education delivered virtually alongside on-site clinical duties.
Are these new grad certified nurse midwife jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior certified nurse midwife roles. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts graduate clinical rotations or preceptorship hours toward the requirement, or explicitly states that new graduates are encouraged to apply. These roles are designed for candidates stepping into independent midwifery practice for the first time.
Which industries hire the most entry level certified nurse midwifes?
Entry Level certified nurse midwife roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Science & Research, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026.
