Entry Level Certified Pharmacy Technician Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level certified pharmacy technician job?
Start by earning your CPhT certification through PTCB or NHA, which most employers require even at the entry level. Hands-on experience from a pharmacy internship, externship, or retail pharmacy job gives you a concrete edge. Highlight any medication handling, inventory management, or customer service experience on your resume, and apply to retail chains, hospital systems, and mail-order pharmacies that explicitly welcome new graduates.
Which companies hire entry level certified pharmacy technicians?
Companies hiring entry level certified pharmacy technicians right now include Walgreens, Amazon, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Retail pharmacy chains, hospital networks, and specialty pharmacy operators tend to hire most actively at this level, often offering structured training programs for candidates who are new to the role.
Are there remote entry level certified pharmacy technician jobs?
Yes, though most pharmacy technician roles require on-site presence for dispensing and patient interaction. About 0% of entry level certified pharmacy technician openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and these positions typically involve prior authorization support, pharmacy benefit management, or insurance coordination rather than direct dispensing work.
Are these new grad certified pharmacy technician jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior certified pharmacy technician roles. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience and treats completed pharmacy technician programs, externships, or retail pharmacy exposure as equivalent to on-the-job tenure. Look for postings that list CPhT certification as a requirement rather than years in a dispensing role.
Which industries hire the most entry level certified pharmacy technicians?
Entry Level certified pharmacy technician roles concentrate in Retail, Healthcare & Medical Services, and E-Commerce & Online Marketplaces, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they operate high-volume dispensing environments and invest in training newly certified technicians rather than competing for experienced candidates with specialized backgrounds.
