Entry Level Staff Pharmacist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level staff pharmacist job?
Entry level staff pharmacist employers look for candidates who have completed their PharmD degree and passed the NAPLEX and MPJE licensing exams. At this stage, clinical rotation experience, intern hours at a retail or hospital pharmacy, and strong references from preceptors carry real weight. Highlighting specific patient counseling or dispensing experience from rotations helps your application stand out over candidates with generic pharmacy backgrounds.
Which companies hire entry level staff pharmacists?
Companies hiring entry level staff pharmacists right now include CVS Health, Walmart, and Kroger, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring covers retail pharmacy chains, health systems, independent community pharmacies, and specialty pharmacy operators that regularly bring on new graduates to fill staff roles.
Are there remote entry level staff pharmacist jobs?
Yes, though most staff pharmacist roles require an on-site presence for dispensing and patient interaction. About 0% of entry level staff pharmacist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to focus on clinical review, medication therapy management, or specialty pharmacy functions that can be performed without a physical dispensing environment.
Are these new grad staff pharmacist jobs?
Yes, the openings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior staff pharmacist roles alongside other entry level positions. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes candidates with zero to two years of experience, accepts pharmacy internship hours or rotation work in place of full-time history, and does not require state licensure before the start date, allowing time to sit for board exams.
Which industries hire the most entry level staff pharmacists?
Entry Level staff pharmacist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Retail, and E-Commerce & Online Marketplaces, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate high patient-volume settings with consistent dispensing demand, making new graduates a practical fit for staff roles with structured supervision and on-the-job onboarding.
