Civil Project Manager Jobs in Orlando: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a civil project manager job in Orlando?
Target Orlando's three busiest hiring sectors: transportation infrastructure tied to FDOT corridor projects, land development supporting the city's residential boom in areas like Lake Nona and Horizon West, and utilities work tied to growth in Orange and Seminole counties. Engineering firms managing large-scale site development and local government contractors post frequently. Candidates with FDOT experience, PMP certification, or familiarity with Central Florida permitting processes stand out in this market.
Which companies hire civil project managers in Orlando?
Employers hiring civil project managers in Orlando right now include AVCON, Thomas & Hutton, and Galloway & Company, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. The local market leans heavily toward mid-size civil and geotechnical engineering firms, municipal contractors, and regional developers tied to Orlando's sustained construction and infrastructure pipeline.
Are there remote civil project manager jobs in Orlando?
Yes, though remote work is limited given how much of the role depends on site visits, contractor coordination, and field oversight. About 0% of civil project manager openings tied to Orlando are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to cover the planning, scheduling, and reporting functions rather than active construction management.
How can I get a civil project manager job in Orlando with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Orlando is through a project engineer or assistant project manager role at a regional civil engineering or land development firm, many of which are actively hiring to support growth in areas like Osceola County and the SR 429 corridor. Internships with Orange County government or FDOT District 5 build local credentials fast. Candidates who pair EIT status with exposure to site plan review or FDOT project delivery processes move into PM roles more quickly here than in slower-growth markets.
Which industries hire the most civil project managers in Orlando?
Most civil project manager openings in Orlando sit in Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Orlando's continuous theme park expansion, population-driven road and utility projects, and multi-family residential development create unusually steady demand across those sectors compared to most Florida metros.
