Civil Project Manager Jobs in Raleigh: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a civil project manager job in Raleigh?
Focus on Raleigh's strongest hiring sectors: municipal infrastructure, land development, and transportation engineering tied to the city's growth along the I-440 beltline and US-1 corridors. Local engineering consulting firms and general contractors working on Wake County development projects hire most actively. Candidates with experience in NCDOT-funded projects, stormwater systems, or mixed-use site development stand out in this market.
Which companies hire civil project managers in Raleigh?
Employers hiring civil project managers in Raleigh right now include S&ME, TIMMONS, and Westwood Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Raleigh's mix of mid-size regional engineering firms, large general contractors, and municipal clients like the City of Raleigh and Wake County creates consistent demand across firm types and project scales.
Are there remote civil project manager jobs in Raleigh?
Remote civil project manager roles are limited by nature, since most positions require on-site coordination, field inspections, and contractor oversight. About 0% of civil project manager openings tied to Raleigh are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common for planning, design review, and client-facing phases handled by larger firms in the Research Triangle Park area.
How can I get a civil project manager job in Raleigh with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Raleigh is landing a project engineer or assistant project manager role with a regional civil engineering or land development firm. Firms supporting Wake County's residential and commercial growth regularly hire early-career candidates. Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, NCDOT permitting processes, and local stormwater regulations gives applicants a concrete advantage over generalist candidates in this market.
Which industries hire the most civil project managers in Raleigh?
Raleigh civil project manager roles concentrate in Energy and Investment & Asset Management, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Raleigh's sustained population growth, ongoing transit investment, and a pipeline of large mixed-use developments in areas like North Hills and downtown continue to drive hiring across those sectors.
