JOB TITLE: Contract Manager, Energy and Infrastructure Projects (Raleigh, NC)
LOCATION: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid)
Who we are?
Built on more than a century of innovation and decades of substation expertise, Linxon blends AtkinsRéalis’ project management strength with Hitachi Energy’s technological leadership. Together, we deliver high‑performing EPC solutions that strengthen the power grid.
We support community growth and industrial development by providing end‑to‑end engineering, procurement, management, and construction services for complex AC substation and electrification projects across five core markets.
What We Believe?
We believe in the value of every client’s investment and take pride in tackling challenging, high‑risk projects. With deep expertise and continuous development, our teams operate with the precision, resilience, and mission‑focus needed to deliver crucial infrastructure—often described as the “special forces” of our industry.
How will you make your impact?
As a Contract Manager with Linxon you will serve as a key commercial advisor to the project business, reporting directly to the General Counsel Americas and operating at the center of Linxon’s EPC delivery for utility grid infrastructure projects across North America and, where required, Latin America. In this role, you will leverage 5–8 years of construction and EPC contracting experience to influence outcomes across the full project lifecycle—shaping contract strategy during tendering, protecting value through effective subcontracting and procurement, and resolving claims and disputes during execution. Your impact will be visible in risk-balanced EPC agreements, strengthened supplier and subcontractor positions, disciplined governance compliance, and the successful resolution of commercial issues that safeguard project margin, schedule, and reputation while enabling Linxon’s strategic growth objectives.
What will you do?
- You will support sales and tender teams from bid preparation through contract award by reviewing, negotiating, and drafting EPC agreements that align commercial risk with Linxon’s governance framework and long-term business objectives.
- You will advise supply chain management from sourcing through contract close-out by negotiating and drafting key supplier and subcontractor agreements that protect Linxon’s commercial, insurance, and risk allocation positions.
- You will work directly with the project implementation organization from project start through completion to manage contract changes, evaluate claims, and drive timely, practical resolutions that minimize financial exposure and schedule impact.
- You will analyze EPC, subcontract, and supplier contracts from inception through execution by identifying legal and commercial risks, ensuring alignment with corporate policies, and recommending mitigation strategies to project stakeholders.
- You will draft and issue contractual correspondence from issue identification through resolution to enforce contractual rights, preserve claims, and maintain Linxon’s position in live projects.
- You will provide clear commercial advice and formal opinions from early risk identification through executive decision-making to enable informed, strategic project and business actions.
- You will participate directly in negotiations with clients, joint venture partners, subcontractors, and suppliers from preparation through final agreement to achieve balanced, enforceable commercial outcomes.
- You will coordinate with external legal counsel from dispute escalation through arbitration or litigation to ensure efficient case management, cost control, and effective protection of Linxon’s interests.
- You will collaborate closely with US management, engineers, and technical teams from early planning through execution to integrate commercial discipline into technical and operational decisions.
- You will ensure all commercial proposals and transactions are conducted from initiation through approval in full compliance with Linxon’s policies, procedures, and governance requirements.
Who you are?
- You have 5–8 years of experience in contract management or commercial roles within the construction or EPC industry, ideally supporting utility grid infrastructure or heavy industrial projects.
- You have hands-on experience advising on EPC contracts, subcontracting, equipment procurement, insurance, claims management, and dispute resolution.
- You have strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling you to influence diverse stakeholders while maintaining clarity, credibility, and accountability.
- You have the ability to balance detailed contract analysis with broader strategic and commercial objectives to deliver pragmatic, value-driven advice.
- You have demonstrated independence in decision-making and the ability to drive contracts, claims, and complex issues to conclusion.
- You have the confidence to communicate difficult or unpopular positions to project teams and executives and to hold stakeholders accountable when required.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with fluency required and additional language proficiency—particularly Spanish or French—considered a strong advantage.
- You have an interest in learning and applying technical concepts related to utility construction projects and heavy industrial manufacturing environments in the United States.
- You have experience working effectively in a fast-paced, close-knit, multilingual, and multidisciplinary environment.
- You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent; a Juris Doctor or equivalent legal qualification is a strong plus.
