Summary of Job Duties: The Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing, a 9-month non-tenure-track position, teaches graduate and undergraduate level courses, participates in student advisement and mentoring, engages in service activities in the department, university, and profession, and contributes to departmental efforts towards maintaining accreditation. The Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing also participates in curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement activities to support the quality and effectiveness of academic programs. The position also contributes to the effective operation of academic programs and academic governance by participating in departmental, college, and university service activities, as appropriate to their appointment.
This is an in-person position. Extensive in-person engagement in such activities as office hours, student advising, and departmental, college, and university committee meetings is essential to advancing student success and departmental effectiveness.
Through teaching, research, and service, this position supports the University’s 150 Forward priorities of student success, research excellence, and an employer-of-choice environment.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate from a nationally recognized and accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of employment
- Commitment to high-quality teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels
- Commitment to preparation of effective professionals
Required Certification or License:
- Eligible to hold an unencumbered RN license with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing and secured by the first date of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Documented teaching experience at the college/university level
- Experience in student advising at the college/university level
- Experience or interest in the scholarship of teaching and learning
