Therapist – Psychological & Neurodevelopmental Testing
Jay H. Berk, Ph.D. & Associates is seeking a clinician to join our growing testing and assessment services in the Cleveland area. This position is ideal for a therapist, school therapists, or assessment professional with experience evaluating children, adolescents, and young adults with concerns related to ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning differences, executive functioning, emotional/behavioral concerns, and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
The clinician will work as part of a collaborative behavioral health team providing comprehensive diagnostic and psychological assessments to help families better understand an individual’s strengths, challenges, diagnosis, and treatment or educational needs.
Responsibilities
· Conduct comprehensive diagnostic and psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults.
· Assess for concerns including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety, depression, learning difficulties, executive-functioning challenges, and other behavioral or neurodevelopmental conditions.
· Complete clinical interviews with clients and parents/caregivers.
· Administer, score, and interpret appropriate standardized assessment instruments within the clinician’s scope of practice and training.
· Review relevant educational, developmental, medical, and behavioral records.
· Integrate testing results, clinical history, observations, and collateral information into comprehensive assessment reports.
· Develop clear, practical recommendations for families, schools, therapists, physicians, and other treatment providers.
· Conduct feedback sessions with families to explain findings, diagnoses, and recommendations.
· Collaborate with therapists, educators, speech-language pathologists, and other members of our multidisciplinary team.
· Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
· Has experience working with neurodivergent children, adolescents, and/or young adults.
· Has specific training or experience in psychological, behavioral, developmental, or neurodevelopmental assessment.
· Has experience evaluating ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
· Can communicate complex assessment findings to families in a practical and understandable way.
· Writes clear, organized, clinically strong assessment reports.
· Enjoys working collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals.
· Understands that an evaluation should do more than provide a diagnosis—it should help create a meaningful roadmap for treatment, education, and future success.
Qualifications
Candidates should hold an appropriate Ohio professional license and have the education, training, supervision, and professional scope necessary to perform the assessment services assigned to them.
Experience with commonly used ADHD, autism, behavioral, cognitive, executive-functioning, and social-emotional assessment tools is strongly preferred.
Specific testing responsibilities will be determined based upon the clinician’s professional license, training, competency, and applicable Ohio scope-of-practice requirements.
