Align your credentials with ABB's manufacturing scope
ABB's supply chain roles often require experience spanning industrial procurement, electrification components, or automation-related logistics. Tailor your resume to reflect cross-functional exposure in manufacturing environments, not just general supply chain operations.
Target roles with multi-site or global sourcing responsibilities
ABB's U.S. supply chain function supports a distributed manufacturing footprint. Roles tied to global supplier management or cross-border procurement tend to be harder to fill domestically, which strengthens the employer's case for H-1B sponsorship under specialty occupation requirements.
Search verified sponsoring employers before applying broadly
Use Migrate Mate to filter Supply Chain openings at ABB confirmed against DOL Labor Condition Application filings, so you're applying to roles with a documented sponsorship history rather than guessing from job descriptions.
Clarify sponsorship timing before accepting an offer
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed for an October 1 start date. If ABB extends an offer outside that window, confirm whether they'll bridge your status or use cap-exempt pathways, so you're not caught in a gap period.
Prepare documentation that supports specialty occupation classification
USCIS scrutinizes supply chain roles closely under H-1B specialty occupation standards. A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or operations research strengthens your petition more than a general business degree with unrelated coursework.

Find Supply Chain at ABB JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does ABB sponsor H-1B visas for Supply Chain roles?
Yes, ABB sponsors H-1B visas for Supply Chain professionals. The company's U.S. manufacturing operations create consistent demand for specialized procurement, logistics, and operations roles that qualify under USCIS specialty occupation standards. Sponsorship is more common for roles requiring a degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or a related technical field.
How do I apply for Supply Chain jobs at ABB?
You can browse and apply for Supply Chain openings at ABB directly through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship history so you can prioritize positions where sponsorship has been confirmed through DOL filings. Applying through ABB's careers portal is also an option, but confirming sponsorship eligibility upfront saves time in the process.
Which visa types does ABB commonly use for Supply Chain hires?
ABB primarily uses the H-1B visa for Supply Chain professionals and sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employment. H-1B is the most common entry point for roles requiring a specialized degree. Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically comes after you've established yourself in the role.
What qualifications does ABB expect for Supply Chain roles?
ABB's Supply Chain positions typically require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, operations, or a closely related field. Hands-on experience with procurement, supplier development, or logistics in a manufacturing environment is usually expected. Familiarity with ERP systems and cross-functional coordination across global teams strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How do I manage the H-1B filing timeline when targeting ABB?
H-1B registration opens in March each year, with a lottery selection in late March and petitions filed for an October 1 start date. If ABB extends you an offer ahead of registration, confirm they'll file during the upcoming cycle. If you're already in valid status, ABB can sometimes structure a transfer or bridge arrangement to cover any gap.
