Verify your credentials meet Ohio licensing requirements
Healthcare roles at Adena require state licensure before you can start work. Confirm your foreign credentials are recognized by the Ohio licensing board for your specific discipline well before accepting an offer, since this step often takes longer than the visa filing itself.
Target roles with a direct degree match
Adena files H-1B petitions for specialty occupations, which means your degree field must align with the role. A registered nurse or clinical specialist position requires a directly related credential, not just general healthcare experience, so align your application to roles where your degree is an exact fit.
Browse open Healthcare roles on Migrate Mate
Adena Health System's open Healthcare positions that include visa sponsorship are listed on Migrate Mate. Filter by role type to identify which clinical and allied health openings are currently available before reaching out to the recruiting team directly.
Ask about J-1 waiver pathways during screening
If you're completing a J-1 residency or fellowship, ask Adena's HR team early whether they participate in Conrad 30 waiver programs. Health system employers in Ohio can sponsor J-1 waivers for physicians committing to underserved area service, which can convert your status without entering the H-1B cap lottery.
Confirm your OPT timeline before accepting an offer
If you're on F-1 OPT, map your OPT expiration against Adena's typical onboarding timeline. Healthcare credentialing and background checks can take four to six weeks, and if your OPT expires before you clear those steps, your employment authorization lapses before you've worked a single day.
Request the LCA posting details from your hiring manager
Once Adena initiates your H-1B filing, DOL requires a Labor Condition Application to be posted at your worksite for ten business days. Ask HR to confirm the prevailing wage determination for your role and location, since the wage listed on your offer must meet or exceed what DOL certifies.

Find Healthcare at Adena Health System JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Adena Health System sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcares?
Yes, Adena Health System sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Healthcare roles. Eligibility depends on whether the position meets USCIS specialty occupation criteria, which requires a direct relationship between a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field and the job duties. Clinical and allied health roles typically satisfy this standard, but Adena's HR team confirms sponsorship eligibility on a role-by-role basis.
How do I apply for Healthcare jobs at Adena Health System?
You can browse and apply for Healthcare positions at Adena Health System directly through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which lists Adena's open sponsorship-eligible roles in one place. When applying, make your visa status and sponsorship need clear in your cover materials. Adena's recruiting team handles sponsorship questions during the offer stage, not before screening.
Which visa types does Adena Health System use for Healthcare roles?
Adena Health System has sponsored H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT visas for Healthcare positions. H-1B is the most common pathway for long-term employment. TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible healthcare occupations. J-1 is relevant for physicians completing residencies or fellowships, with Conrad 30 waiver options available for those committing to qualifying service areas in Ohio.
What qualifications does Adena Health System expect for Healthcare roles?
Adena expects candidates to hold a relevant degree in their clinical or allied health discipline, along with active or pending Ohio state licensure for licensed roles. For H-1B sponsorship specifically, USCIS requires that your degree field directly corresponds to the job duties. Practical clinical experience in a U.S. or internationally accredited setting strengthens your application, particularly for specialist and mid-level positions.
How long does the sponsorship process take for Healthcare roles at Adena?
Timeline depends on your current visa status and the filing pathway. H-1B cap-subject petitions are tied to the April lottery and October 1 start date, meaning you could wait six months or more from offer to start. Cap-exempt situations or TN transfers move faster, often within weeks. Ohio state licensing, background checks, and credentialing add four to eight additional weeks regardless of visa category.
