Frame Your Credentials Around Field Operations
Aggreko's OR Tech roles center on hands-on equipment deployment and site support, not clinical or administrative work. Tailor your resume to emphasize operational troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and on-site technical execution before you apply.
Target Aggreko's Industrial and Event Verticals
Aggreko staffs OR Techs across power rental, oil and gas, and large-scale event projects. Identifying openings tied to these verticals improves your odds since these project types drive the most consistent technical hiring across their U.S. locations.
Verify TN Eligibility Before Applying as a Canadian or Mexican National
TN status requires your OR Tech role to fit a qualifying USMCA occupation category. Confirm the specific job description aligns with an approved category before accepting an offer, since a mismatch can derail the border application entirely.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Aggreko Openings
Aggreko's OR Tech listings don't always appear consistently across general job boards. Search Migrate Mate to find current sponsorship-confirmed openings at Aggreko filtered by visa type, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already on the table.
Align OPT Start Dates With Aggreko's Project Cycles
Aggreko ramps hiring around seasonal project demand, particularly summer events and industrial shutdowns. Timing your F-1 OPT activation to coincide with these windows increases your chances of landing a position before your authorized period runs short.
Confirm H-1B Filing Timelines With Your Recruiter Early
USCIS H-1B cap registration opens in March for an October 1 start date. Ask your Aggreko recruiter explicitly whether the company participates in cap-season filing so you're not caught without a petition after accepting an offer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Aggreko sponsor H-1B visas for OR Techs?
Yes, Aggreko sponsors H-1B visas for OR Tech roles. Their rental and leasing operations depend on qualified technical staff across U.S. project sites, and they have a documented history of filing H-1B petitions for this function. If you're in the H-1B cap lottery, confirm early in the hiring process that your specific role and location are included in their sponsorship program.
How do I apply for OR Tech jobs at Aggreko?
You can find OR Tech openings at Aggreko through their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which surfaces visa-sponsorship-confirmed listings so you're not wasting time on roles that won't support your status. When applying, highlight field operations experience and any certifications relevant to power or temperature control equipment, since those details directly match what Aggreko's hiring managers prioritize for this function.
Which visa types does Aggreko commonly use for OR Tech roles?
Aggreko sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for OR Tech positions. F-1 OPT and CPT are practical starting points if you're a recent graduate needing immediate authorization. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals if the role qualifies under USMCA occupational categories. H-1B is the longer-term path for multi-year employment.
What qualifications does Aggreko expect for OR Tech roles?
Aggreko typically looks for technical candidates with hands-on experience operating or maintaining industrial power, HVAC, or related rental equipment. A background in electrical systems, mechanical maintenance, or field service is relevant. For specialty occupation H-1B purposes, USCIS requires the role to normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a related technical field, so your educational credentials and job description need to align clearly.
How do I time my application to align with Aggreko's sponsorship process?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, Aggreko must file your petition before the USCIS cap registration window closes in March for an October 1 start. For OPT, build in at least 60 to 90 days between your offer acceptance and your intended start date to allow time for F-1 authorization processing. Raise your visa situation with the recruiter during the first interview, not after an offer, so there are no delays.
