Frame your resume around revenue outcomes
Aggreko's Sales roles center on industrial and commercial rental contracts, not transactional retail cycles. Quantify deal sizes, contract renewals, and territory growth from previous roles so your resume speaks the language of a B2B rental sales organization.
Target regional and field sales openings first
Aggreko's Sales hiring tends to concentrate in field-facing roles tied to specific territories and industrial verticals. These positions are harder to fill locally, which makes them more likely to support sponsorship than centralized inside sales roles.
Verify your OPT STEM extension eligibility early
If you're on F-1 OPT and your degree is in a STEM field, confirm with your DSO whether your classification qualifies for the 24-month extension. That extension buys Aggreko more time before committing to an H-1B filing, which can make sponsorship conversations easier.
Understand what the H-1B cap timeline means for your offer
H-1B registration opens in March for an October 1 start date. If Aggreko extends an offer outside that window, clarify whether they'll use cap-exempt filing, a concurrent change of status, or bridge your authorization another way. Getting this confirmed in writing before you accept matters.
Use Migrate Mate to identify active Aggreko Sales openings
Aggreko posts Sales roles across multiple regions and verticals at different times of year. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Aggreko positions that align with your visa type so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already part of the hiring picture.
Align your experience with Aggreko's core industry verticals
Aggreko serves oil and gas, utilities, events, and construction clients. Sales candidates with prior exposure to any of these sectors, especially where rental equipment or managed service contracts were involved, are materially stronger fits for the roles where sponsorship has historically been extended.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Aggreko sponsor H-1B visas for Sales roles?
Yes, Aggreko has sponsored H-1B visas for Sales positions. Sponsorship is not guaranteed for every opening, and decisions depend on the specific role, your qualifications, and timing relative to the H-1B cap cycle. Field-facing and technical sales roles tied to industrial verticals tend to be the strongest candidates for sponsorship consideration.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at Aggreko?
You can apply directly through Aggreko's careers site or browse their active Sales openings on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles by visa type so you can focus on positions relevant to your work authorization. When applying, tailor your materials to the specific industrial vertical the role serves, such as oil and gas, utilities, or construction.
Which visa types are commonly used for Sales roles at Aggreko?
Aggreko has supported H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for its workforce. For Sales roles specifically, F-1 OPT is common for early-career hires while H-1B is the standard path for longer-term sponsorship. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying Sales occupations under USMCA.
What qualifications and experience does Aggreko typically look for in Sales candidates?
Aggreko's Sales roles generally require experience in B2B or industrial sales, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in rental equipment, managed services, or related industries like oil and gas, utilities, or construction. A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field is commonly expected, and prior territory management experience is a clear differentiator.
How do I plan my job search timeline around visa sponsorship at Aggreko?
If you're targeting an H-1B through Aggreko, align your application activity with the USCIS registration window, which opens in March each year for an October 1 cap-subject start. If you're on OPT, start engaging with Aggreko's Sales teams at least three to four months before your authorization expires to leave enough time for the company to initiate a petition.
