Certify Your HVAC Credentials Before Applying
Aggreko's field roles typically require EPA Section 608 certification and hands-on experience with industrial cooling and climate equipment. Having these verified and documented before you apply removes a common bottleneck in the offer-to-sponsorship timeline.
Target Aggreko's Field Service Hiring Cycles
Aggreko scales its technician workforce around large project deployments, so openings often cluster around peak demand seasons. Monitoring their careers page in late winter and early fall puts you ahead of candidates who apply reactively.
Clarify TN Status Eligibility for Your Situation
If you're a Canadian or Mexican national, TN classification may apply to your HVAC Technician role at Aggreko under a qualifying engineering or scientist category. Confirm the specific occupational match with your employer before assuming TN is available.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Active Aggreko Openings
Aggreko posts HVAC Technician roles across multiple regions, and not all appear on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Aggreko positions that include visa sponsorship so you're not applying blindly to roles that won't support your status.
Time Your OPT Application Around Field Deployment Schedules
F-1 students on OPT have a 90-day unemployment limit. Because Aggreko's HVAC roles are project-driven, confirm your start date is firm before your OPT clock starts. A delayed deployment that pushes your start date can eat into your authorized period.
Request the LCA Filing Date from Your Recruiter
Once Aggreko extends an offer and begins H-1B sponsorship, the Labor Condition Application must be certified by DOL before the I-129 petition can be filed with USCIS. Asking your recruiter for the LCA submission date lets you track the process and anticipate realistic start dates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Aggreko sponsor H-1B visas for HVAC Technicians?
Aggreko has sponsored H-1B visas for technical roles including HVAC Technicians, though it is not among the highest-volume H-1B filers in the industry. Sponsorship availability can depend on the specific role, location, and business need at the time of hiring. Engaging directly with Aggreko's recruiting team early in the process is the most reliable way to confirm sponsorship eligibility for a specific opening.
How do I apply for HVAC Technician jobs at Aggreko?
Applications go through Aggreko's careers portal, where HVAC Technician openings are listed by region and job type. You can also find Aggreko's visa-sponsoring roles filtered specifically on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify positions where international candidates have a realistic path. Have your EPA Section 608 certification and relevant field service experience documented before you apply.
Which visa types does Aggreko commonly use for HVAC Technician roles?
Aggreko has sponsored H-1B visas and supported F-1 OPT and CPT candidates for HVAC Technician roles. TN visa classification may also be available for Canadian and Mexican nationals if the role maps to a qualifying occupational category under the USMCA agreement. The right visa type depends on your nationality, current status, and the specific job classification Aggreko uses for the position.
What qualifications does Aggreko expect for HVAC Technician candidates seeking sponsorship?
Aggreko's HVAC Technician roles typically require EPA Section 608 certification, experience with large-scale or industrial climate control systems, and the ability to work on temporary deployment sites. A relevant technical degree or associate credential strengthens your application, particularly if you're pursuing H-1B sponsorship, since USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation with a degree requirement.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take if Aggreko extends an offer?
After an offer, Aggreko must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL, which typically takes one to two weeks when certified. The H-1B petition then goes to USCIS, with regular processing taking several months and premium processing typically returning a decision within 15 business days. Cap-subject H-1B petitions can only start employment on October 1, so your start date depends heavily on when in the fiscal year you receive an offer.
