Certify Relevant Technical Credentials Before Applying
Aggreko hires Technicians who can demonstrate competency with power generation and HVAC systems. Certifications like NFPA 70E electrical safety or EPA 608 refrigerant handling strengthen your application and signal job-readiness before sponsorship conversations begin.
Search DOL LCA Filings to Confirm Sponsorship Patterns
Before targeting a specific Aggreko location, check DOL OFLC disclosure data to see which job sites have filed Labor Condition Applications for Technician roles. Aggreko operates across many states, and active LCA filings indicate where sponsorship is actively used.
Target Field Service Technician Openings Specifically
Aggreko's Technician postings range from yard-based to field service roles. Field service positions involve direct equipment deployment at client sites, which often justifies specialty occupation or TN filings more clearly than warehouse-only roles. Apply to postings with explicit field deployment responsibilities.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Aggreko Technician Roles by Visa Type
Aggreko posts Technician openings across multiple states, and not every posting is tied to the same visa pathway. Migrate Mate lets you filter by sponsored visa type so you can target listings where H-1B or TN sponsorship aligns with your status.
Clarify TN Eligibility Before Accepting a Canadian or Mexican Offer
If you're a Canadian or Mexican national, TN classification under the engineer or computer systems analyst category may apply to certain Technician roles, but only if the position requires a qualifying bachelor's degree. Confirm the job description explicitly states a degree requirement before relying on TN at the border.
Align Your Start Date With H-1B Cap Timelines
If your offer requires an H-1B, USCIS only opens cap registration once annually in March, with employment starting no earlier than October 1. Aggreko's hiring managers in industrial services are accustomed to this cycle, so negotiate a conditional start date tied to cap selection and approval.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Aggreko sponsor H-1B visas for Technicians?
Yes, Aggreko has sponsored H-1B visas for Technician roles. Sponsorship depends on the specific position and work location, since H-1B eligibility requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation with a corresponding degree requirement. Field service and technical roles with specialized equipment knowledge are the most likely to meet that threshold.
Which visa types are commonly used for Technician roles at Aggreko?
Aggreko sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Technician roles and accepts candidates on F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for early-career or entry-level positions. Canadian and Mexican nationals may also be eligible for TN visa classification if the role aligns with a qualifying occupational category and requires a relevant degree. Your eligibility depends on your nationality, education, and the specific job description.
What qualifications or experience does Aggreko expect for Technician roles?
Aggreko Technician roles typically require hands-on experience with power generation equipment, diesel engines, HVAC systems, or electrical distribution. An associate's or bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or power engineering strengthens your application and is often required for visa-sponsored positions. Field service experience and relevant safety certifications like NFPA 70E or EPA 608 are commonly listed in postings.
How do I apply for Technician jobs at Aggreko?
Browse Technician openings at Aggreko through Migrate Mate, which filters by visa sponsorship type so you can identify roles where your work authorization is supported. Once you find a matching posting, apply directly and be upfront about your visa status during the screening call. Aggreko operates a large field service network, so openings appear across multiple states throughout the year.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship for an Aggreko Technician role?
H-1B cap registration opens each March, with approved petitions allowing employment from October 1 at the earliest. If you receive an offer and require a new H-1B, you'll need to negotiate a start date that accounts for the registration window and USCIS processing time. Candidates on F-1 OPT can often begin sooner if their OPT authorization covers the role and start date.
