Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations. For Project Program Manager positions, document that your degree is in engineering, supply chain, chemistry, or a directly related field. A general business degree without relevant technical coursework creates risk.
Target Airgas roles tied to capital projects
Airgas consistently hires Project Program Managers to oversee plant construction, equipment upgrades, and distribution network buildouts. Roles scoped around capital expenditure programs are more likely to require the technical depth that supports a specialty occupation determination.
Research Airgas locations before applying
Airgas operates facilities and regional hubs across the U.S. The work location on your petition affects the prevailing wage level DOL uses for your Labor Condition Application. Roles based in lower cost-of-labor markets can affect offer structuring and LCA compliance.
Clarify sponsorship intent before the offer stage
Raise visa sponsorship directly after a second-round interview, not at the offer stage. Airgas recruiting teams handle sponsorship through HR and legal, so early alignment prevents delays when the offer goes through approval workflows that include immigration sign-off.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Project Program Manager roles
Search Migrate Mate to filter Airgas Project Program Manager openings that are open to sponsored candidates. This saves time you would otherwise spend manually screening job listings that don't support H-1B or employment-based Green Card filings.
Prepare for PERM early if targeting a Green Card
If Airgas agrees to sponsor an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card, the PERM labor certification process requires a supervised recruitment campaign documented through DOL. Starting this conversation within your first year of employment gives your employer enough runway to run the process properly.

Find Project Program Manager at Airgas JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Airgas sponsor H-1B visas for Project Program Managers?
Yes, Airgas has a documented track record of sponsoring H-1B visas for Project Program Manager roles. Sponsorship decisions are made on a role-by-role basis and depend on whether the position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines. Roles tied to technical project delivery in Airgas's chemicals and industrial gases operations are the most consistent candidates for sponsorship.
Which visa types does Airgas commonly use for Project Program Manager roles?
Airgas sponsors both nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories for this function. H-1B is the most commonly used work visa for Project Program Managers. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Airgas has also sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Cards, which require PERM labor certification through DOL before USCIS adjudicates the immigrant petition.
What qualifications does Airgas expect for Project Program Manager positions?
Airgas typically expects candidates to hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, chemistry, or a related technical field, along with experience managing large-scale infrastructure or capital projects in industrial or manufacturing environments. PMP certification is commonly listed as a preferred qualification. Background in chemicals, gases, or industrial distribution strengthens your application significantly.
How do I apply for Project Program Manager jobs at Airgas?
You can find open Project Program Manager roles at Airgas through Migrate Mate, which filters for positions open to visa-sponsored candidates. Apply directly through Airgas's careers portal with a resume that highlights project scope, capital budget ownership, and cross-functional team leadership. Tailor your application to the specific site or business unit listed in the posting, as Airgas operations vary significantly by location and function.
How do I plan my timeline if Airgas is sponsoring my H-1B?
The H-1B cap lottery opens each March for an October 1 start date, which means your employer must register you months before you can begin. If you're already in the U.S. on a valid status such as OPT, you may be able to work through a cap-gap extension while your petition is pending. Start conversations with Airgas HR well before the February registration window to avoid missing the cycle.
