Frame your credentials around public health outcomes
Consultant roles at American Heart Association prioritize candidates who can connect analytical or advisory work to measurable health impact. Tailor your resume to highlight program evaluation, health equity initiatives, or policy consulting experience rather than generic management consulting.
Confirm H-1B eligibility before applying
Consultant positions must qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards, meaning your degree field needs to directly align with the role. Public health, health policy, epidemiology, or a related field strengthens the case significantly over a general business degree.
Target roles in mission-critical program areas
American Heart Association's consulting needs concentrate in cardiovascular health programs, community health strategy, and policy implementation. Applying to roles tied to these core functions increases your chances of landing in a team with established sponsorship workflows.
Search open Consultant roles through Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters American Heart Association's open Consultant positions by visa type, so you can see which roles are actively open to H-1B, OPT, or TN candidates without sorting through listings that don't support sponsorship.
Initiate the LCA conversation early in the offer stage
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Raising this timeline with HR during the offer stage, before your start date is set, prevents avoidable delays in your authorization.

Does American Heart Association sponsor H-1B visas for Consultants?
Yes, American Heart Association sponsors H-1B visas for Consultant roles. The position needs to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS criteria, which means your degree must directly relate to the consulting work involved. Roles focused on public health strategy, policy, or program evaluation tend to meet this threshold more clearly than general advisory positions.
How do I apply for Consultant jobs at American Heart Association?
Applications go through American Heart Association's careers portal, where you can filter by location and role type. You can also browse open Consultant positions filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. In your application, highlight any non-profit or public health consulting experience and align your materials to the organization's cardiovascular and health equity mission areas.
Which visa types does American Heart Association commonly use for Consultant roles?
American Heart Association sponsors H-1B visas for Consultant roles and also hires candidates on F-1 OPT and CPT status, making it accessible to international students completing graduate programs. TN visa holders from Canada and Mexico may also be eligible depending on the specific role's occupational category and degree requirements. Each visa type has different timelines and filing requirements.
What qualifications does American Heart Association expect for Consultant positions?
Most Consultant roles require a bachelor's or master's degree in public health, health policy, epidemiology, social work, or a related field. American Heart Association values experience in program evaluation, health equity initiatives, or policy advisory work within mission-driven or government-adjacent organizations. Candidates who can demonstrate measurable outcomes in community health or cardiovascular program contexts tend to be most competitive.
How do I plan my timeline for H-1B sponsorship with American Heart Association?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March each year, with an employment start date of October 1 at the earliest. If you're on OPT, check whether your field qualifies for the 24-month STEM extension, which gives you additional time to secure a sponsorship offer before the next lottery cycle. Discussing sponsorship intent with the hiring team before accepting an offer prevents timeline misalignments.
