Job Description:
At Zygo, your expertise directly supports our core values of curiosity, collaboration, and persistence. For more than 50 years, Zygo Corporation has been a global leader in the design and manufacture of advanced optical metrology systems, ultra‑precision optical components, and complex electro‑optical assemblies. Our solutions enable breakthroughs across semiconductor, aerospace, medical, and research industries—where precision truly matters. Join a team where technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement are not just expected—but celebrated.
Zygo is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Manager to lead a critical transformation: evolving the organization from reactive scheduling to proactive, data‑driven planning. This is a highly visible role with enterprise‑wide impact, responsible for building and owning the planning infrastructure that supports operational stability, improved customer performance, and scalable growth.
You will design and lead best‑in‑class planning processes—most notably Master Production Scheduling (MPS) and Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP)—while serving as the central connector between Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
Master Production Scheduling (MPS)
- Develop, maintain, and own the Master Production Schedule across all production areas.
- Translate customer demand and forecasts into executable production plans.
- Balance demand, labor, capacity, and material availability to create stable, achievable schedules.
- Reduce schedule volatility through disciplined adherence, freeze windows, and structured change control.
- Enable predictable execution and improved operational performance.
Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP)
- Build and lead Zygo’s SIOP process from the ground up, including demand review, supply review, and executive SIOP.
- Establish cadence, governance, and planning discipline across functions.
- Drive alignment between Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance.
- Improve forecast accuracy and long‑range visibility into demand, capacity, and constraints.
- Lead monthly SIOP meetings and present data‑driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Performance Improvement & KPI Ownership
- Improve On‑Time Delivery (OTD) through stable planning, proactive communication, and schedule integrity.
- Define, track, and report key planning and supply chain KPIs, including:
- Schedule Adherence
- OTD to Schedule
- Forecast Accuracy
- Capacity Utilization
- Inventory Health & WIP Levels
- Lead root‑cause analysis for variances and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement in inventory turns, WIP optimization, and production flow.
Cross‑Functional Leadership
- Serve as the single point of truth for demand, supply, and scheduling decisions.
- Partner closely with sales, operations, procurement, and production control.
- Train, mentor, and elevate planning and scheduling capabilities across the organization.
What Success Looks Like
- A stable, trusted Master Production Schedule with reduced volatility.
- A fully integrated, value‑adding SIOP process embraced by leadership.
- Improved OTD, forecast accuracy, and capacity utilization.
- Clear visibility to demand, supply risks, and decision tradeoffs.
- Strong cross‑functional alignment and confidence in the planning process.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in Master Scheduling, Production Planning, or Supply Chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience implementing, leading, or maturing an SIOP / S&OP process.
- Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in capacity planning, constraint management, and data‑driven decision making.
- Ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into clear, executable plans.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and influencing skills across cross‑functional teams.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Supply Chain Jobs at AMETEK Jobs
Translate your credentials into AMETEK's language
AMETEK's supply chain roles often require experience with electronics or industrial components sourcing. Frame your resume around commodity management, supplier qualification, or cost reduction in hardware-adjacent industries so hiring managers see immediate fit before sponsorship even comes up.
Target AMETEK's business units directly
AMETEK operates dozens of business units under the Electronic Instruments and Electromechanical segments. Searching by division name rather than just 'AMETEK' surfaces niche supply chain openings that attract fewer applicants and where sponsorship conversations are easier to initiate.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsoring roles
Not every AMETEK supply chain posting explicitly mentions sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to browse open roles filtered by visa type so you're only spending time on positions where AMETEK has an active sponsorship track record for this function.
Clarify your OPT timeline before your first interview
If you're on F-1 OPT, calculate exactly how many months of work authorization remain before your first interview. AMETEK's H-1B petition would need to be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start, so a short remaining OPT window affects whether cap-subject H-1B timing even works for you.
Understand that TN status fits certain supply chain titles
Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying supply chain roles, such as Industrial Engineer or Management Consultant, may be eligible for TN status, which has no annual cap and can be processed at the border. Confirm your job title maps to a USMCA-listed category before relying on this path.
Prepare for AMETEK's PERM-aware hiring timeline
If your role leads toward a Green Card via PERM labor certification, DOL requires AMETEK to document that no qualified U.S. workers were available. Understand that this process can take a year or more and plan your status extensions with your employer's immigration counsel accordingly.

Find Supply Chain at AMETEK JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does AMETEK sponsor H-1B visas for Supply Chains?
Yes, AMETEK has sponsored H-1B visas for supply chain roles. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions are subject to an annual lottery with a registration window each March and an October 1 start date, you'll want to confirm with your recruiter early in the process that your role qualifies as a specialty occupation and that the timeline aligns with your current work authorization.
How do I apply for Supply Chain jobs at AMETEK?
You can search AMETEK's careers portal directly, filtering by function or business unit. For a faster way to surface roles with a confirmed sponsorship track record, browse Migrate Mate's curated listings for AMETEK supply chain positions. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect experience in electronics or industrial hardware sourcing, supplier management, or procurement operations relevant to AMETEK's business segments.
Which visa types are commonly used for Supply Chain roles at AMETEK?
AMETEK sponsors across several visa categories for supply chain hires, including H-1B for specialty occupation roles, F-1 OPT and CPT for students in qualifying STEM programs, TN for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals in roles mapped to USMCA occupation categories, and J-1 for certain exchange visitor arrangements. The right category depends on your nationality, degree field, and the specific job title.
What qualifications does AMETEK expect for Supply Chain roles?
AMETEK's supply chain positions typically look for a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or a related field. For mid-level and senior roles, hands-on experience with supplier sourcing, contract negotiation, ERP systems, or materials planning in an electronics or industrial manufacturing environment is expected. Familiarity with quality standards common in hardware manufacturing strengthens your profile significantly.
How do I plan my timeline for H-1B sponsorship at AMETEK?
The H-1B cap-subject process runs on a fixed annual cycle: USCIS opens lottery registration in March, selects petitions shortly after, and approved workers can begin October 1. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your authorization end date covers the gap. If it doesn't, your employer can apply for a cap-gap extension through USCIS, which bridges your status while the petition is pending.
