Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Sales Manager Jobs at AMETEK Jobs
Frame Your Technical Sales Credentials Early
AMETEK sells into aerospace, defense, and industrial markets where buyers are engineers. Before applying, document your experience selling technical products or solutions to engineering stakeholders. Generic sales credentials won't differentiate you in a specialty occupation filing.
Target Regional Roles Tied to AMETEK Divisions
AMETEK operates through distinct business units like Electronic Instruments Group and Electromechanical Group. Sales Manager openings vary by division, so search by business unit, not just job title. Roles tied to a specific product line tend to have clearer specialty occupation justifications for H-1B purposes.
Verify Your OPT Timeline Before Accepting an Offer
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm how many months remain before your offer letter arrives. AMETEK will need time to file an H-1B petition or extend your authorization, and running out of OPT mid-employment cycle creates real complications for both parties.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface AMETEK Openings by Visa Type
Filter AMETEK's active Sales Manager listings on Migrate Mate by the visa types they've sponsored. This lets you prioritize roles where the sponsorship pathway aligns with your current status, saving time on applications where the fit is weaker.
Clarify the LCA Process During Offer Negotiations
Before your H-1B petition can be filed, AMETEK's legal team must certify a Labor Condition Application with the DOL confirming your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your work location. Ask HR which law firm handles their immigration filings so you know who to coordinate with.
Align Your Degree Field to the Role's Specialty Occupation Basis
USCIS requires that a Sales Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a specific bachelor's degree field must be a normal requirement. A degree in electrical engineering, industrial technology, or a related technical discipline strengthens this argument considerably over a general business degree.

Find Sales Manager at AMETEK JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does AMETEK sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Managers?
Yes, AMETEK sponsors H-1B visas for Sales Manager roles, though approval depends on whether the specific position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. Sales Manager roles in electronics and hardware are most defensible when they require a technical degree and involve selling complex products to engineering or procurement professionals, rather than general account management.
Which visa types are commonly used for Sales Manager roles at AMETEK?
H-1B is the most common pathway for Sales Managers at AMETEK, particularly for candidates transitioning off F-1 OPT or CPT. TN status is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations, and J-1 is occasionally used for early-career or training-oriented roles. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree field, and current immigration status.
What qualifications and experience does AMETEK expect for Sales Manager roles?
AMETEK typically looks for candidates with a technical bachelor's degree, such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, combined with B2B sales experience in industrial, defense, or electronics markets. Familiarity with AMETEK's product categories, including electronic instruments or electromechanical devices, and experience managing a sales territory or channel partners is a strong advantage.
How do I apply for Sales Manager jobs at AMETEK?
You can browse active Sales Manager openings at AMETEK filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where the company has a sponsorship history. When applying directly, tailor your resume to the specific business unit and product line the role supports. Include any relevant technical background prominently, since AMETEK's hiring teams evaluate technical credibility alongside commercial experience.
How do I plan my timeline if AMETEK offers me a Sales Manager role on H-1B?
H-1B cap-subject petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date, so if you receive an offer outside that window, you may need to bridge on OPT STEM extension or another status. AMETEK's legal team files the Labor Condition Application with the DOL before the USCIS petition, which typically adds two to four weeks to the pre-filing timeline. Start the conversation with HR about immigration support as early as the offer stage.
