Frame your sales experience around enterprise technology
Google's Sales Manager roles focus on cloud, advertising, and enterprise software products. Tailor your resume to show quota-carrying experience with complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles rather than transactional or consumer-facing sales.
Confirm the role qualifies as a specialty occupation
H-1B eligibility requires the position to meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard. Sales Manager roles at technology companies generally qualify when tied to a specific technical domain, so verify the job description references a degree requirement in a relevant field.
Target Google's gTech and Google Cloud sales divisions
Google posts Sales Manager openings across multiple business units. Roles within Google Cloud and gTech have clearer technical degree requirements, which strengthens your H-1B or E-3 petition compared to general commercial sales positions.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Sales Manager roles at Google
Finding roles that actively accept visa sponsorship applications saves time in a competitive hiring cycle. Migrate Mate's job board filters Google's Sales Manager postings by visa type, so you can focus applications on positions aligned with your work authorization.
Align your offer timeline with the H-1B cap and lottery
If you need a new H-1B, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start. Work backward from that date when negotiating your start date with Google's recruiting team so your offer letter and LCA filing are in place before registration closes.
Request premium processing if your start date is firm
USCIS premium processing guarantees a decision within 15 business days for an additional fee. Google's legal team can file this on your behalf, but you need to raise it early in the offer stage rather than after the petition is submitted.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Google sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Managers?
Yes, Google sponsors H-1B visas for Sales Manager roles when the position meets USCIS's specialty occupation standard, which generally applies to sales roles tied to a specific technical domain like cloud infrastructure or enterprise software. Google's legal team handles the petition, but you'll need a signed offer letter and a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL before filing can begin.
Which visa types does Google commonly use for Sales Manager roles?
Google sponsors H-1B visas for most international candidates, H-1B1 visas for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, and E-3 visas for Australian citizens. The E-3 is particularly attractive for Australian Sales Managers because it has no lottery and allows Google to file at any time of year, making the hiring timeline more predictable than the annual H-1B cap season.
How do I apply for Sales Manager jobs at Google?
Applications go through Google's careers portal at careers.google.com. Sales Manager roles at Google are competitive, so tailoring your application to the specific business unit matters. Google Cloud and gTech roles require demonstrated experience with enterprise sales cycles and ideally familiarity with the product area. You can also browse verified sponsorship-eligible postings through Migrate Mate to identify which roles are currently open.
What qualifications does Google expect for Sales Manager roles?
Google typically expects a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or a related field alongside several years of quota-carrying sales experience in technology or software. For visa sponsorship purposes, the degree field should align with the technical focus of the sales role. Candidates with experience selling cloud services, SaaS platforms, or enterprise infrastructure products are generally the strongest fit.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship at Google?
If you require an H-1B cap-subject petition, Google needs to submit your USCIS registration in March, with employment starting no earlier than October 1 of that year. The DOL Labor Condition Application takes around seven business days to certify and must be completed before filing. Starting the conversation with Google's recruiting team at least three to four months before the March registration window gives both sides enough time to prepare.
