Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Development Manager Jobs at AMETEK Jobs
Align your portfolio to AMETEK's product divisions
AMETEK organizes its Development Manager hiring around two core segments: Electronic Instruments and Electromechanical. Tailor your resume and project examples to whichever segment you're targeting so hiring managers see direct product-line relevance, not a general engineering background.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type
AMETEK posts Development Manager positions across multiple business units simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter those openings by the visa type you hold or need, so you're only spending time on roles where sponsorship is confirmed.
Time your F-1 OPT application around AMETEK's hiring cycles
AMETEK fills Development Manager roles throughout the year, but hardware and instruments divisions often ramp up hiring in Q1 and Q3. If you're on F-1 OPT, file your EAD application at least 90 days before your program end date so work authorization is in hand when an offer comes.
Prepare documentation that supports an H-1B specialty occupation case
USCIS requires that an H-1B role qualifies as a specialty occupation. For a Development Manager position at AMETEK, gather degree transcripts, a detailed job description from the offer letter, and evidence that a bachelor's or higher in engineering or a related technical field is standard for the role.
Account for LCA certification in your start date negotiation
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting your H-1B petition to USCIS. Standard LCA certification takes up to seven business days. Build that window into any start date discussion with AMETEK's HR team to avoid a gap in your timeline.

Find Development Manager at AMETEK JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does AMETEK sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, AMETEK sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. The process requires the company to first file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL, then submit an H-1B petition to USCIS on your behalf. Sponsorship availability can vary by division and location, so confirm with the recruiter early in the process before accepting an offer.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at AMETEK?
Applications go through AMETEK's careers portal, where roles are listed by business segment and location. You can also browse current Development Manager openings filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate, which makes it straightforward to identify positions where sponsorship is confirmed. Tailor your application to the specific product division, since AMETEK's hiring teams operate fairly independently across segments.
Which visa types does AMETEK commonly use for Development Manager roles?
AMETEK sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas for Development Manager positions. H-1B is the most common path for full-time hires in engineering leadership. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering categories. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for candidates transitioning from university programs into these roles.
What qualifications does AMETEK expect for a Development Manager role?
Most Development Manager postings at AMETEK require a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field, with advanced degrees preferred for senior levels. Hands-on experience managing product development lifecycles in electronics or instrumentation is weighted heavily. Familiarity with regulated industries, such as aerospace, defense, or industrial automation, is a recurring requirement across AMETEK's business units.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship to start at AMETEK?
If you're pursuing an H-1B, the annual cap filing window opens in March for an October 1 start date. Standard USCIS processing runs three to six months, with premium processing available for a faster decision. For TN or F-1 OPT, timelines are shorter, but you still need to coordinate LCA certification and any EAD filing well before your intended start date to avoid delays.
