Align your background to AMETEK's divisions
AMETEK operates across highly specialized instrument and electromechanical divisions. Frame your resume around P&L ownership or product segment management in electronics, industrial controls, or precision instruments to match how their Business Manager roles are actually scoped.
Confirm LCA filing before accepting an offer
Before your H-1B petition moves forward, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying prevailing wage compliance. Ask the recruiting team where they are in that step so you're not caught off-guard on timeline.
Target AMETEK's business units strategically
AMETEK's Electronic Instruments Group and Electromechanical Group hire Business Managers with distinct focus areas. Research which division aligns with your background and apply there directly rather than submitting to generic open roles across the company.
Secure strong documentation of commercial results
AMETEK's hiring process for Business Manager roles weighs demonstrated revenue impact and customer growth. Pull together offer letters, performance reviews, or client references that quantify your contributions before interviews begin.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open roles quickly
Business Manager openings at AMETEK move through multiple divisions and don't always surface on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter for sponsorship-confirmed Business Manager roles at AMETEK so you're applying to positions where your visa situation is already accounted for.
Plan your H-1B timing around the cap lottery
If you're on OPT or CPT and AMETEK extends a Business Manager offer, confirm whether your role qualifies as cap-exempt. Most AMETEK positions are cap-subject, so your employer needs to register you in the USCIS lottery by the March deadline for an October 1 start.

Find Business Manager at AMETEK JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does AMETEK sponsor H-1B visas for Business Managers?
Yes, AMETEK sponsors H-1B visas for Business Manager roles. The process requires your employer to first obtain a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL, then file an H-1B petition with USCIS. For cap-subject positions, sponsorship depends on passing the annual lottery, so timing your offer and application against the March registration window matters significantly.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Manager roles at AMETEK?
H-1B is the most common path for Business Manager roles at AMETEK, given the specialty occupation requirements tied to the position. F-1 OPT and CPT allow recent graduates to work in the role while a longer-term petition is prepared. TN status is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or professional classifications, and J-1 sponsorship covers certain exchange arrangements.
How do I apply for Business Manager jobs at AMETEK?
You can apply through AMETEK's careers portal or find sponsorship-confirmed openings on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles where international candidates are welcome. Tailor your application to the specific business unit you're targeting, emphasizing P&L management or segment leadership experience. AMETEK's Business Manager roles tend to favor candidates with a demonstrated track record in electronics, instrumentation, or industrial markets.
What qualifications does AMETEK expect for Business Manager positions?
AMETEK typically looks for a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related technical field, often paired with experience managing product lines or customer accounts in a B2B environment. An MBA can strengthen your candidacy for senior-level Business Manager roles. Relevant experience in electronics, specialty instruments, or precision manufacturing aligns closely with what AMETEK's divisions actually hire for.
How do I understand the H-1B process timeline if AMETEK sponsors me?
Once AMETEK agrees to sponsor your H-1B, your employer files an LCA with the DOL, which typically takes one to three weeks to certify. The H-1B petition is then submitted to USCIS, with standard processing running three to five months and premium processing available in roughly two to three weeks. If the cap lottery applies, your earliest possible start date is October 1 of the fiscal year following your registration.
