Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Maintenance Jobs at AMETEK Jobs
Certify Credentials Before Applying
Maintenance roles at AMETEK often require documented proof of technical training, such as PLC certifications or electrical safety credentials. Have your transcripts and certifications ready in English before you submit, since background checks move fast once an offer is extended.
Target AMETEK's Manufacturing-Heavy Divisions
AMETEK operates across dozens of subsidiaries in precision instruments and electromechanical devices. Search by subsidiary, not just the parent company name, since Maintenance openings are posted at the division level and sponsorship decisions are often made there.
Align Your OPT Start Date with Hiring Cycles
AMETEK's Electronics and Hardware facilities tend to hire Maintenance technicians on a rolling basis tied to production schedules. Starting your job search at least four months before your OPT expires gives enough runway for interviews, offers, and any CAP-gap bridging before the next H-1B lottery.
Clarify TN Eligibility for Your Specific Role
Canadian and Mexican nationals can bypass the H-1B lottery entirely through TN status, but the role must map to a qualifying USMCA occupation. For Maintenance positions, engineering-based job titles with a relevant bachelor's degree typically support TN eligibility better than general technician titles.
Find Sponsored Maintenance Openings Through Migrate Mate
Filter verified visa-sponsoring employers in the Electronics and Hardware sector using Migrate Mate. This narrows your search to AMETEK and comparable companies that have a confirmed sponsorship track record for Maintenance roles, saving you from applying to positions where sponsorship is unlikely.
Confirm the I-129 Timeline with HR Before Accepting
Once AMETEK extends an offer, ask HR directly whether they use premium processing for the I-129 petition. USCIS standard processing can take several months, and knowing the expected timeline upfront lets you plan your start date, status transitions, and any required travel accordingly.

Find Maintenance at AMETEK JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does AMETEK sponsor H-1B visas for Maintenances?
Yes, AMETEK has a track record of H-1B sponsorship for roles across its Electronics and Hardware operations, including Maintenance functions. Whether a specific Maintenance position qualifies depends on how the role is scoped and whether it meets USCIS specialty occupation criteria, which typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant technical field.
Which visa types are commonly used for Maintenance roles at AMETEK?
AMETEK has sponsored H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas across its workforce. For Maintenance roles, F-1 OPT is a common entry point for recent graduates, while H-1B sponsorship is used for longer-term employment. TN is an efficient option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose roles map to a qualifying USMCA occupation category.
What qualifications does AMETEK expect for Maintenance positions?
Most Maintenance roles at AMETEK's Electronics and Hardware divisions require hands-on experience with electromechanical systems, PLCs, or precision manufacturing equipment. A technical degree or formal certification in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering strengthens your application considerably. Experience maintaining equipment in regulated manufacturing environments is a practical advantage when competing for sponsored positions.
How do I apply for Maintenance jobs at AMETEK?
Applications are submitted through AMETEK's careers portal, but Maintenance openings are often listed under individual subsidiary names rather than the parent company brand. Searching Migrate Mate lets you surface verified sponsorship-eligible Maintenance postings at AMETEK and similar Electronics and Hardware employers in one place, so you can apply with confidence that sponsorship is on the table.
How do I plan my timeline if I need AMETEK to file an H-1B petition for a Maintenance role?
H-1B petitions are subject to an annual lottery, with registration typically opening in March for an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT, confirm your authorization end date and work backward from the filing window. USCIS premium processing, if AMETEK opts in, can reduce adjudication time significantly and is worth asking HR about during the offer stage.
