Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Program Director Jobs at AMETEK Jobs
Align your credentials to AMETEK's standards
AMETEK's Program Director roles in electronics and hardware consistently require demonstrated experience managing cross-functional engineering programs. A PMP certification alongside a technical degree in electrical or mechanical engineering strengthens your profile significantly over a business-only background.
Target AMETEK's electronic instruments and electromechanical divisions
AMETEK operates two distinct business segments with active program management hiring. Focusing your search on their Electronic Instruments Group or Electromechanical Group narrows your target to divisions where Program Director headcount demand is highest.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified Program Director openings
AMETEK posts across multiple channels, making it hard to identify which roles are genuinely open to sponsored candidates. Use Migrate Mate to surface Program Director listings at AMETEK that align with your visa type before investing time in applications.
Prepare a program leadership portfolio for technical interviews
AMETEK's hiring process for Program Directors typically includes behavioral rounds focused on program execution metrics and cross-site coordination. Documenting scope, schedule, and budget outcomes from prior hardware or defense programs gives interviewers concrete evidence of your leadership depth.
Verify AMETEK's E-Verify participation before accepting an offer
OPT and STEM OPT work authorization requires your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify. Confirm AMETEK's participating status through the official E-Verify employer search tool before signing any offer letter to avoid authorization gaps after your start date.

Find Program Director at AMETEK JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does AMETEK sponsor H-1B visas for Program Directors?
Yes, AMETEK sponsors H-1B visas and has an established track record of doing so for technical and program management roles in its electronics and hardware divisions. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions require USCIS registration in early April for an October 1 start, coordinating your offer timeline with AMETEK's HR team well in advance is essential to avoid a full year's delay.
Which visa types does AMETEK commonly use for Program Director roles?
AMETEK sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas for roles including Program Directors. TN status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering or management categories, while OPT and STEM OPT are typically transitional pathways used early in a candidate's tenure before H-1B sponsorship is pursued.
What qualifications and experience does AMETEK expect for Program Director positions?
AMETEK's Program Director roles in electronics and hardware typically require a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering, combined with significant experience leading large-scale, multi-site programs. Program management credentials such as a PMP are common expectations. Experience in defense, aerospace, or precision instruments aligns closely with the types of programs AMETEK manages across its business segments.
How do I apply for Program Director jobs at AMETEK?
You can browse open Program Director positions directly on AMETEK's careers site or use Migrate Mate to filter listings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you're only reviewing roles that match your immigration status. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect program execution outcomes relevant to AMETEK's electronics and electromechanical product lines, as generic program management experience is less compelling than hardware-specific examples.
How do I time my application to account for visa processing if I'm already in the U.S.?
If you're on F-1 OPT, check your OPT expiration date against the H-1B cap filing window. USCIS opens H-1B registration in March for an April 1 petition deadline, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest. If your OPT expires before October, a STEM OPT extension may bridge the gap, provided AMETEK is enrolled in E-Verify and your degree qualifies under STEM OPT rules.
