Frame your credentials around U.S. grid standards
Arcadis consulting work often involves NERC reliability standards and IEEE interconnection requirements. Translate your international power systems experience into those frameworks on your resume before applying, so hiring managers immediately see U.S. project relevance.
Target Arcadis transmission and utility practices
Arcadis staffs Power Systems Engineers across distinct service lines, including transmission planning and energy transition advisory. Applying directly to roles listed under those practice areas improves your fit signal compared to submitting to a generic engineering requisition.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship openings
Not every Arcadis job posting signals visa sponsorship eligibility. Use Migrate Mate to browse Power Systems Engineer roles at Arcadis that are confirmed open to sponsored candidates, saving you time on applications that lead nowhere.
Clarify your visa category early in interviews
Arcadis sponsors multiple visa types including H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT. Naming your current status and what you'll need next during a recruiter screen prevents mismatched expectations and speeds up the offer process, especially if your OPT or grace period has a hard deadline.
Prepare for the LCA prevailing wage step
Before USCIS adjudicates your H-1B petition, Arcadis must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL at the prevailing wage for your geographic location. Engineering salaries vary significantly by metro, so research the DOL wage data for the office you're targeting.
Sequence your PE licensure application strategically
Arcadis consulting projects frequently require or reward Professional Engineer licensure for client-facing roles. If you're sitting for the PE exam during your F-1 OPT period, align your exam timeline with your petition filing window so licensure supports rather than delays your H-1B case.

Find Power Systems Engineer at Arcadis JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Arcadis sponsor H-1B visas for Power Systems Engineers?
Yes, Arcadis sponsors H-1B visas for Power Systems Engineers. As a global consulting firm with consistent demand for specialized engineering talent, Arcadis has an established process for supporting H-1B petitions. If you're on F-1 OPT, Arcadis can transition you to H-1B status, though you'll need to account for the annual USCIS lottery cap and the April filing window.
How do I apply for Power Systems Engineer jobs at Arcadis?
You can apply through Arcadis's careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which lists verified Power Systems Engineer openings at Arcadis that are open to sponsored candidates. Before applying, align your resume with U.S. grid standards and NERC compliance experience, and be prepared to discuss your current visa status and sponsorship needs directly with the recruiter during the first conversation.
Which visa types does Arcadis commonly use for Power Systems Engineers?
Arcadis sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles. For long-term hires, Arcadis has supported PERM labor certification, the first step in employer-sponsored Green Card cases, for engineering staff.
What qualifications does Arcadis expect for Power Systems Engineer roles?
Arcadis typically looks for a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems, transmission planning, or grid analysis. Hands-on experience with software tools like PSS/E, PowerWorld, or PSCAD is commonly required. Professional Engineer licensure or active pursuit of it strengthens your candidacy, particularly for senior or client-facing consulting positions.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at Arcadis?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March each year, with petitions filed in April for an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT, you'll need an active EAD and, if applicable, a timely STEM OPT extension to bridge the gap. Securing an offer well before the March registration window gives Arcadis's immigration team enough time to prepare your petition without a compressed timeline.
