Job Description
Who You’ll Work With
When you join Arista’s VeloCloud Systems Engineering team, you become part of the group that pioneered cloud-delivered SD-WAN. Reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager, you will be assigned a named book of MSP/SP accounts and serve as the primary technical relationship owner across those partners. You will engage directly across the full breadth of each MSP/SP organization—spanning product management, sales, marketing, operations, service assurance, and NOC teams. Your role is to help partners design, launch, grow, and operationalize SD-WAN and SD-Branch managed services built on Arista’s portfolio. Through close collaboration with Arista Product Management, Engineering, TAC, and Professional Services, you will serve as a trusted advisor as partners build next-generation networking services that drive measurable business growth for both their customers and Arista.
What You’ll Do
We are seeking a collaborative, technically strong Systems Engineer to own, enable, and co-sell with our strategic MSP/SP partners.
- Account Ownership: Serve as the dedicated technical SE for an assigned set of MSP/SP accounts, building deep and lasting relationships across technical, operational, and executive stakeholders within each partner organization.
- Trusted Advisor – Service Design: Help MSP/SP partners create, package, and take to market differentiated SD-WAN and SD-Branch managed services built on VeloCloud and the broader Arista portfolio.
- Cross-Functional Enablement: Develop and deliver tailored enablement programs across all MSP/SP teams—GTM (sales and marketing), operations, NOC/support, and product management—equipping each with the knowledge to position, sell, deliver, and support Arista-powered services.
- Operational Integration: Ensure seamless integration of VeloCloud SD-Branch into MSP/SP operational frameworks, including OSS/BSS systems, service assurance platforms, and delivery workflows. This includes guiding use of VeloCloud REST APIs, log/metric export, and multi-tenant orchestration capabilities.
- Co-Selling: Partner alongside MSP/SP sales teams in customer-facing opportunities—delivering technical presentations, solution demonstrations, and workshops to MSP customers and prospects to accelerate deal velocity and expand revenue.
- Solution Architecture & PoC: Lead solution design, RFx technical responses, and Proof of Concepts (PoCs), ensuring proposed architectures align with partner technical requirements and their downstream customers’ business objectives.
- Portfolio Expansion: Collaborate with MSP/SP partners to co-develop managed services that leverage the broader Arista portfolio—including campus switching, wireless, and security—creating additional revenue streams beyond SD-WAN.
- Product Feedback Loop: Serve as the voice of the MSP/SP channel into Arista Product Management and Engineering, providing structured feedback on features and enhancements required for managed service and multi-tenant use cases.
- Industry Presence: Represent Arista at industry events, MSP-focused forums, partner-led customer events, and conferences.
Qualifications
- BS/CS/CE degree or equivalent technical experience
- 5+ years of experience in WAN, networking, or cloud services, with at least part of that time focused on Service Provider or Managed Service Provider environments.
- Understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), WAN technologies, and SD-WAN.
- Experience supporting pre-sales activities, including technical presentations, solution design, and PoCs.
- Ability to establish long-lasting relationships and credibility with diverse stakeholders across MSP/SP organizations (from technical operations to product management and sales).
- Excellent communication, listening, and presentation skills.
- Prior experience working with or supporting MSP/SP organizations, with an understanding of their structure and operational processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of Linux, hypervisors, cloud computing, and operational tools for logs, metrics, events, and alerting.
- Familiarity with automation frameworks and scripting (REST APIs, Python, Ansible) is a plus
- Understanding of Service Provider routing environments, including MPLS VPN and Segment Routing (SR).
- Experience co-developing or enabling managed service offerings is a strong plus.
- Network Industry Certification is a plus

Certify Your Networking Credentials Before Applying
Arista's SE interviews test hands-on EOS and BGP knowledge directly. Holding a CCIE, JNCIE, or Arista ACE credential signals technical depth and shortens the vetting process, making a sponsorship conversation easier to initiate.
Target Arista Openings in Their Tier-One Territory Markets
Arista assigns SEs to geographic territories tied to enterprise and cloud accounts. Roles covering major metro markets like New York, Chicago, or the Bay Area tend to fill fastest, so applying to those postings increases your chances of reaching an offer stage.
Find Arista Systems Engineer Roles Through Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Systems Engineer openings specifically by visa sponsorship type, so you can browse Arista postings confirmed to support H-1B, OPT, or TN candidates without sorting through roles that won't sponsor.
Clarify TN Eligibility If You Hold a Canadian or Mexican Passport
Arista sponsors TN visas for qualifying Systems Engineer roles, and TN processing at the border avoids the H-1B lottery entirely. Confirm your degree maps to the DOL's Computer Systems Analyst or Engineer TN category before your offer negotiation.
Ask About LCA Filing Timing During Offer Negotiation
Your start date depends on when your employer files the Labor Condition Application with DOL. For H-1B transfers or cap-exempt filings, LCA certification typically takes seven business days, so building that window into your notice period prevents gaps in authorization.
Align Your Resume to SE Job Descriptions Before USCIS Petitions
USCIS evaluates whether your background directly supports the specialty occupation claimed in the I-129 petition. Systems Engineer roles at Arista involve specific duties like network design and pre-sales architecture, so your resume should reflect those exact functions, not a general IT background.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Arista Networks sponsor H-1B visas for Systems Engineers?
Yes, Arista Networks sponsors H-1B visas for Systems Engineer roles. The company has a consistent history of filing H-1B petitions for this function, which covers both new cap-subject filings and transfers from existing H-1B holders. If you already hold an H-1B with another employer, a transfer to Arista lets you start work as soon as the petition is filed with USCIS, without waiting for approval.
How do I apply for Systems Engineer jobs at Arista Networks?
Apply directly through Arista's careers portal, where Systems Engineer postings are listed by region and specialty. Before applying, review the job description carefully since SE roles at Arista often require pre-sales experience and hands-on knowledge of Arista EOS. You can also browse verified sponsorship-confirmed Systems Engineer openings at Arista through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles filtered by visa type.
Which visa types does Arista Networks commonly use for Systems Engineer roles?
Arista sponsors H-1B visas as the primary pathway for Systems Engineers requiring long-term work authorization. The company also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, TN visa status for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose degrees align with qualifying DOL categories, and employment-based Green Card sponsorship through the EB-2 and EB-3 PERM process for candidates on longer-term career tracks.
What qualifications does Arista Networks expect for Systems Engineer candidates?
Arista typically expects a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical field for Systems Engineer roles, along with hands-on experience in enterprise networking, routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF, and ideally familiarity with Arista EOS or comparable platforms. Pre-sales or customer-facing experience is a strong differentiator since SE roles at Arista involve active support of the sales process alongside technical architecture work.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Systems Engineer at Arista Networks?
Timeline depends on the visa type. For H-1B cap-subject filings, the process begins with the March lottery registration, with employment starting no earlier than October 1 of that fiscal year. H-1B transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status can proceed faster, often within weeks of filing. TN sponsorship for eligible Canadians and Mexicans can be completed at the port of entry. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship typically runs 18 to 36 months from initiation.
