Frame your credentials around business transformation
Autodesk's strategy function focuses on platform evolution, M&A integration, and market expansion in AEC and manufacturing. Tailor your resume to show how your analytical or planning work drove measurable change in a software or SaaS context, not just process documentation.
Target roles aligned with Autodesk's cloud transition
Autodesk has been executing a long-running shift from perpetual licensing to cloud subscriptions. Strategy roles tied to this transformation, such as go-to-market strategy or pricing, are where international hiring tends to concentrate. Align your application to that strategic narrative.
Search open Strategy positions on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Autodesk's open Strategy roles by visa type so you're only applying to positions where sponsorship is confirmed. This saves time and ensures you're not pursuing openings that won't support your work authorization.
Clarify your visa timeline before the offer stage
If you're on F-1 OPT, make sure Autodesk's recruiting team knows your STEM extension eligibility and exact expiration date early. Waiting until an offer is extended to surface a 60-day gap or a cap-subject H-1B filing creates unnecessary friction for both sides.
Understand how PERM timing affects strategy-level hires
Senior strategy roles at Autodesk often lead to EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship, which requires PERM labor certification through DOL. That process typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS filing even begins, so ask about the company's standard timeline during the offer negotiation.
Verify E-Verify enrollment before accepting a TN or E-3 offer
TN and E-3 visas require your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify to confirm work authorization. Autodesk participates, but if you're joining through an acquired entity or a subsidiary, confirm that the specific legal employer on your offer letter is covered under the same enrollment.

Find Strategy at Autodesk JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Autodesk sponsor H-1B visas for Strategys?
Yes, Autodesk sponsors H-1B visas for Strategy roles. Because H-1B is subject to the annual cap and lottery, timing matters. If you're already on H-1B with a previous employer, a transfer is generally faster than a new cap-subject filing. USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year, so your offer timeline needs to account for that window.
How do I apply for Strategy jobs at Autodesk?
Applications go through Autodesk's careers portal. Strategy roles typically require a cover letter and resume tailored to their specific business unit, whether that's construction, manufacturing, or media and entertainment. Migrate Mate lists open Strategy positions at Autodesk filtered by visa sponsorship type, which helps you identify the right openings before applying directly.
Which visa types does Autodesk commonly use for Strategy roles?
Autodesk sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, and J-1 visas for Strategy positions, along with EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa pathways for longer-term employment. E-3 is available to Australian citizens only. TN covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree, and how quickly you need to start.
What qualifications does Autodesk expect for Strategy roles?
Strategy positions at Autodesk typically require a bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, or a related field, with an MBA valued for senior roles. Relevant experience in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy at a software or technology company strengthens your application significantly. Autodesk also looks for fluency in data-driven decision-making and cross-functional stakeholder management.
How do I time my application if my OPT is expiring soon?
If your OPT expires within six months, prioritize roles where Autodesk can file an H-1B cap-exempt petition or where you qualify for a STEM OPT extension, which gives you up to 24 additional months. USCIS requires STEM OPT extensions to be filed before your current OPT end date, so flag your timeline to the recruiter at the first interview stage, not after an offer is made.
