Verify Your Nursing License Transfers
Before applying, confirm your foreign nursing credentials have been evaluated by CGFNS and that you hold an active RN license in the state where Banner Health is hiring. Without state licensure, no employer can move forward with sponsorship.
Target Banner Health's Community Health Postings
School Nurse roles at Banner Health often sit within community or population health divisions rather than acute care. Search those categories specifically when browsing openings, since standard hospital nursing filters can miss these positions entirely.
Find Open Roles Through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Banner Health's School Nurse openings by visa sponsorship eligibility. It surfaces roles from employers with active sponsorship track records, so you're not spending time on postings that won't support your visa situation.
Ask About H-1B Filing Timelines Upfront
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October start date. If you're interviewing outside that window, ask Banner Health's HR team whether they can file under cap-exempt status or whether a different visa pathway applies to your role.
Document School Health Experience Precisely
Banner Health's School Nurse roles favor candidates with documented experience in immunization programs, IEP coordination, or pediatric chronic disease management. Frame your resume around those specific functions, not general nursing duties, to match what their hiring team screens for.

Find School Nurse at Banner Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Banner Health sponsor H-1B visas for School Nurses?
Yes, Banner Health sponsors H-1B visas for nursing roles including School Nurses. To be eligible, you'll need to hold an active RN license in the relevant state, have your role classified as a specialty occupation, and be prepared to work within the H-1B cap filing cycle if you're not already in H-1B status. Banner Health's HR team manages sponsorship coordination directly.
How do I apply for School Nurse jobs at Banner Health?
Applications go through Banner Health's careers portal, where you can filter by job category and location. School Nurse roles typically appear under community health or care coordination. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse Banner Health's open School Nurse positions filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, which helps you confirm sponsorship support before you invest time in applying.
Which visa types does Banner Health commonly use for School Nurse roles?
Banner Health sponsors both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based immigrant visas, primarily EB-2 and EB-3, for nursing professionals. School Nurses typically enter on H-1B status first, then transition to a Green Card pathway once the PERM labor certification process is underway. The right visa depends on your current status, country of birth, and how long you're willing to wait for a priority date.
What qualifications does Banner Health expect for School Nurse positions?
Banner Health's School Nurse roles generally require a current RN license in the state of employment, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and prior experience in pediatric, public health, or school health settings. Familiarity with IEP processes, immunization protocols, and chronic condition management is a practical advantage. Foreign-trained nurses must have their credentials evaluated by CGFNS before state licensure is granted.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a School Nurse at Banner Health?
For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS standard processing runs three to five months after filing, though premium processing can reduce that to 15 business days. If Banner Health pursues an EB-3 Green Card, the PERM labor certification through DOL alone takes one to two years before the immigrant petition stage begins. Starting the conversation with your recruiter early in the offer process helps avoid gaps in work authorization.
