Get your credentials evaluated before applying
Foreign nursing credentials must be evaluated by a NACES-approved agency before Baptist Health's HR team can assess your eligibility. Having a completed credential evaluation and an active NCLEX pass on file makes you a viable candidate from day one.
Target Baptist Health's specialty units strategically
Baptist Health consistently hires across ICU, med-surg, and cardiovascular nursing. Applying to high-demand units rather than general pools increases your chances of reaching a hiring manager who has experience navigating sponsorship for nursing candidates.
Understand the PERM labor certification timeline
EB-3 sponsorship for nurses requires PERM labor certification through the DOL, which can take a year or more before your I-140 petition is even filed. Factor this into your planning, especially if you're currently on a time-limited status.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Baptist Health nursing roles
Sorting through hundreds of open nursing positions manually is inefficient. Use Migrate Mate to filter Baptist Health jobs by sponsorship eligibility so you're only applying to roles where visa support is actually on the table.
Confirm VisaScreen certificate requirements before your offer
USCIS requires a VisaScreen certificate issued by CGFNS for nurses on EB-3 visas. Baptist Health cannot file your immigrant petition without it, so starting the CGFNS application process well before you receive an offer prevents delays at the filing stage.

Find Nursing at Baptist Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Baptist Health sponsor H-1B visas for Nurses?
Baptist Health's primary sponsorship pathway for nursing roles is employment-based immigrant visa sponsorship, specifically EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, rather than H-1B. Standard registered nursing positions generally don't qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B criteria, so the typical route for internationally trained nurses at Baptist Health runs through the immigrant visa process instead.
Which visa types are commonly used for Nursing roles at Baptist Health?
EB-3 is the most common pathway for nurses at employers like Baptist Health, covering professionals who hold a full U.S. nursing license and meet educational requirements. EB-2 may apply in select advanced practice nursing roles where the position requires a master's degree or higher. Both pathways involve PERM labor certification through the DOL before USCIS can adjudicate the immigrant petition.
What qualifications and experience does Baptist Health expect for sponsored Nursing roles?
Baptist Health typically requires an active U.S. registered nursing license for the state where the role is based, a nursing degree from an accredited program, and relevant clinical experience. For specialty units such as ICU or cardiovascular care, prior experience in that specialty strengthens your candidacy considerably. A completed foreign credential evaluation from a NACES-approved agency is also required for internationally trained applicants.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Baptist Health?
You can browse and apply to open Baptist Health nursing positions through Migrate Mate, which lets you filter roles by sponsorship eligibility so you're not wasting time on listings where visa support isn't available. When applying, make your work authorization situation clear in your application. Baptist Health's recruiting team handles a high volume of nursing applications, so tailoring your materials to the specific unit and patient population helps.
How do I understand the timeline for getting sponsored by Baptist Health as a nurse?
The EB-3 process for nurses involves multiple stages: PERM labor certification with the DOL, an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS, and then waiting for a visa number to become current before you can adjust status or complete consular processing. The entire process can take anywhere from two to several years depending on your country of birth and current visa backlog. Starting as early as possible is critical.
