Obtain your PTA license before applying
BAYADA requires state licensure for all Physical Therapy Assistant roles. Complete your FSBPT licensing exam and secure licensure in your target state before outreach. Many sponsorship delays stem from unlicensed candidates, not visa complexity.
Target BAYADA's home health openings specifically
BAYADA operates primarily in home health, not outpatient clinics or hospitals. Focus your search on their home health divisions rather than facility-based postings. Home health PTAs often have more flexible caseloads, which can affect how BAYADA structures your offer letter for LCA purposes.
Use Migrate Mate to filter BAYADA PTA roles by visa type
Not every BAYADA posting explicitly lists sponsorship eligibility. Migrate Mate lets you filter Physical Therapy Assistant openings at BAYADA by the visa types they've historically sponsored, saving you from applying to roles that won't move forward.
Clarify OPT or CPT timelines with your recruiter early
If you're on F-1 OPT, BAYADA will need to verify your EAD and work authorization end date before extending an offer. Raise your authorization window in the first recruiter conversation so the hiring team can align onboarding and any H-1B transition planning accordingly.
Ask directly whether the role qualifies as a specialty occupation
USCIS requires H-1B roles to meet the specialty occupation standard, which for PTAs hinges on employer documentation of degree requirements. Confirm with BAYADA's HR or in-house counsel that the specific role you're offered is structured to satisfy this standard before accepting.
Understand how TN status applies to your situation
Canadian and Mexican physical therapists and PTAs may qualify for TN visa status under USMCA. TN status requires a qualifying job offer and proof of credentials at the border or consulate, with no USCIS petition needed, which can significantly shorten your start timeline with BAYADA.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does BAYADA Home Health Care sponsor H-1B visas for Physical Therapy Assistants?
Yes, BAYADA Home Health Care has sponsored H-1B visas for Physical Therapy Assistants, though sponsorship is role- and location-specific. Because BAYADA operates across many states and divisions, sponsorship availability can vary by office. Confirm directly with the recruiter handling your specific opening whether H-1B sponsorship is available for that position.
How do I apply for Physical Therapy Assistant jobs at BAYADA Home Health Care?
You can browse and apply for Physical Therapy Assistant openings at BAYADA through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you're only seeing positions relevant to your work authorization status. BAYADA's hiring process typically involves a recruiter screen, a clinical interview, and credentialing verification including state licensure before an offer is extended.
Which visa types does BAYADA Home Health Care commonly use for Physical Therapy Assistant roles?
BAYADA has sponsored H-1B visas for Physical Therapy Assistants and has also hired candidates on F-1 OPT and CPT, as well as TN visa status for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals. The right visa pathway depends on your nationality, education background, and how quickly BAYADA needs to fill the role in question.
What qualifications does BAYADA expect from Physical Therapy Assistant candidates?
BAYADA requires candidates to hold an associate's or bachelor's degree in physical therapy assisting from an accredited program and to be licensed as a PTA in the state where they'll be working. Home health experience is valued, and BAYADA typically looks for candidates comfortable working independently in patient homes rather than supervised clinical settings.
How do I plan my timeline if I need BAYADA to sponsor my H-1B?
The H-1B cap lottery runs once annually, with registrations opening in March for an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT and miss a lottery cycle, USCIS OPT extensions may bridge the gap. Build at least six months of lead time into your job search to give BAYADA enough runway to complete the Labor Condition Application through DOL and file the I-129 petition.
