Verify Your PTA License Before Applying
AccentCare requires state licensure for every PTA hire. If your license is pending, confirm the state board timeline before submitting applications. Some states take months to process foreign-trained applicants, and AccentCare won't extend offers without active licensure.
Target Home Health Openings Specifically
AccentCare's PTA demand is concentrated in home health rather than facility-based settings. Filtering your search to home health roles increases your odds of finding positions where sponsorship has been used before and hiring managers are familiar with the process.
Understand the EB-3 Timeline Before Negotiating
EB-3 sponsorship for PTAs involves PERM labor certification through the DOL before USCIS can adjudicate the immigrant petition. The full Green Card process can take several years. Negotiate your start date and any bridge visa arrangement with this timeline in mind.
Confirm OPT Eligibility with Your School Early
If you're on F-1 status, your DSO must recommend OPT through SEVIS before USCIS can authorize your EAD. Physical therapy assistant programs vary in length, so confirm your graduation date and program classification qualify you for post-completion OPT before targeting AccentCare roles.
Ask Recruiters About TN Visa Eligibility Upfront
Physical Therapy Assistants are not listed as a qualifying TN profession under USMCA. If a recruiter mentions TN sponsorship, clarify whether they mean a Physical Therapist role. Confusing the two titles during the offer stage creates delays and misaligned expectations on both sides.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Verified Openings
AccentCare posts PTA roles across many states, making it hard to identify which openings are actively sponsoring. Use Migrate Mate to browse AccentCare's verified sponsorship-eligible positions and filter by visa type so you're applying where your authorization actually fits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does AccentCare sponsor H-1B visas for Physical Therapy Assistants?
AccentCare does not typically sponsor H-1B visas for Physical Therapy Assistant roles. The H-1B requires a specialty occupation normally requiring a bachelor's degree or higher, and the PTA credential is an associate-level position. AccentCare's sponsorship activity for PTAs is concentrated in employment-based Green Card pathways, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, along with F-1 OPT and CPT work authorization.
Which visa types are commonly used for Physical Therapy Assistant roles at AccentCare?
AccentCare most commonly supports EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for PTAs, which suits internationally trained candidates entering the U.S. job market. F-1 OPT and CPT are also used, making AccentCare a viable option for students completing PTA programs at accredited U.S. institutions. EB-2 sponsorship is less common for this role but has been used. TN visas do not apply to the PTA occupation under USMCA.
What qualifications does AccentCare expect from Physical Therapy Assistant candidates?
AccentCare requires an active PTA license in the state where you'll be working, graduation from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program, and current CPR certification. Home health experience is valued but not always required for entry-level openings. Some roles specify a minimum number of clinical hours or prior fieldwork. Strong documentation of your clinical rotations is useful if you're an internationally trained candidate navigating credential evaluation.
How do I apply for Physical Therapy Assistant jobs at AccentCare?
You can find AccentCare's open PTA roles on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for positions where visa sponsorship is available. Once you identify a relevant opening, apply directly through AccentCare's careers portal. Have your PTA license, CAPTE program transcript, and CPR certification ready to attach. If you're on F-1 OPT, include your EAD and I-20 details so recruiters can confirm your authorization aligns with the role's start date.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a PTA Green Card at AccentCare?
EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through AccentCare begins with PERM labor certification, where the DOL must confirm no qualified U.S. workers are available for the role. That process alone can take six months to over a year. After USCIS approves the immigrant petition, visa availability depends on your country of birth and the State Department's monthly bulletin. Plan for a multi-year timeline from job offer to Green Card approval.
