Get your credentials evaluated before applying
International nursing degrees must be evaluated by a CGFNS-approved credential evaluation service before most U.S. hospital systems will consider your application. Have your evaluation completed and your NCLEX-RN passed before you reach out to Beacon's recruiters.
Target units with chronic staffing pressure
Beacon Health System consistently posts openings in high-demand areas like critical care, med-surg, and telemetry. Applying to these units improves your odds of finding a hiring manager motivated to move forward with H-1B sponsorship rather than waiting for a domestic hire.
Search Beacon's open nursing roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Beacon Health System's active Registered Nurse listings by visa sponsorship availability. This saves time by surfacing only roles where sponsorship is a realistic option, not every open position across the system.
Clarify sponsorship intent before your panel interview
Beacon's nursing recruitment process typically includes a panel interview with unit leadership. Ask your recruiter directly whether the specific unit budget supports H-1B filing before you invest time in that stage. Not every department within a large health system handles sponsorship the same way.
Understand the H-1B cap and annual lottery timing
H-1B visa petitions for cap-subject roles are filed in April for an October start date. If you're offered a role at Beacon and your current status doesn't allow you to start immediately, negotiate a deferred start date that aligns with USCIS processing timelines.
Secure state licensure early in the process
Indiana RN licensure is a hard requirement before Beacon can file your H-1B petition with USCIS. Start your Indiana State Board of Nursing application as soon as you have an offer in hand, since processing delays on licensure can hold up the entire immigration filing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Beacon Health System sponsor H-1B visas for Registered Nurses?
Yes, Beacon Health System has sponsored H-1B visas for Registered Nurses. Like most regional health systems, sponsorship decisions are made at the unit or department level rather than system-wide, so availability depends on the specific role and hiring manager. Confirming sponsorship support early in the recruiting process is the most reliable way to avoid surprises later.
How do I apply for Registered Nurse jobs at Beacon Health System?
Applications go through Beacon Health System's careers portal, where you can filter by role and location across their Indiana network. Before applying, confirm your NCLEX-RN is passed and your credential evaluation is complete. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse Beacon's active Registered Nurse listings filtered specifically for visa sponsorship availability, which saves you from applying to roles where sponsorship isn't on the table.
Which visa types are commonly used for Registered Nurse roles at Beacon Health System?
The H-1B is the primary visa category used for Registered Nurses at U.S. hospital systems, including Beacon. Registered Nursing qualifies as a specialty occupation under H-1B rules because the role requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in nursing. Some nurses also transition through EB-3 Green Card sponsorship over time, though that pathway involves a longer timeline and PERM labor certification through the DOL.
What qualifications does Beacon Health System expect for Registered Nurse roles?
Beacon typically requires candidates to hold an active Indiana RN license or eligibility, along with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing for most clinical positions. For specialty units like critical care or the ICU, relevant certifications such as CCRN are strongly preferred. International applicants should also have a CGFNS credential evaluation on file before submitting an application, as Beacon's nursing credentialing process will require it before onboarding.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take for a Registered Nurse position at Beacon?
From offer acceptance to H-1B approval, the process typically runs six to twelve months when filed under standard processing. Cap-subject petitions must be submitted in April and, if selected in the lottery, carry an October 1 start date. Premium processing through USCIS can reduce the petition adjudication window to about 15 business days, though your employer must agree to pay or share that cost.
