Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
H-1B eligibility requires a degree directly tied to the role. For Procurement at Cardinal Health, a bachelor's in supply chain management, business, or engineering strengthens your petition far more than a general business degree alone.
Target Cardinal Health's strategic sourcing tier
Cardinal Health's Procurement function spans indirect spend, medical product sourcing, and distribution logistics. Roles in strategic sourcing and category management tend to draw the most consistent sponsorship activity, so focus your applications there first.
Start your OPT application timeline early
USCIS recommends filing your OPT authorization at least 90 days before graduation. If you're targeting a full-time Procurement role at Cardinal Health post-graduation, delayed OPT filing can compress your start date window significantly.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship roles
Not every Cardinal Health Procurement posting confirms sponsorship upfront. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles where Cardinal Health has an active sponsorship history, so you're not guessing when you apply.
Request LCA confirmation before negotiating your offer
Before finalizing a Procurement offer, confirm your employer has filed a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying prevailing wage compliance. This step must be completed before USCIS can process your H-1B petition.
Document supply chain systems experience concretely
Cardinal Health's Procurement teams operate on enterprise platforms like SAP Ariba and Coupa. Listing specific system proficiencies on your resume signals operational readiness and gives recruiters a concrete hook when building your sponsorship case internally.

Does Cardinal Health sponsor H-1B visas for Procurement roles?
Yes, Cardinal Health sponsors H-1B visas for Procurement positions. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as supply chain management, business, or engineering. Your petition's strength depends on how clearly the job description maps to that degree requirement, so the offer letter and job duties documentation matter significantly.
How do I apply for Procurement jobs at Cardinal Health?
Applications go through Cardinal Health's careers portal. Search for titles like Strategic Sourcing Manager, Category Manager, or Procurement Analyst to find relevant openings. If you need visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate lets you browse Cardinal Health Procurement roles filtered by sponsorship history, which helps you prioritize postings most likely to support your visa pathway before you invest time in the application.
Which visa types does Cardinal Health commonly use for Procurement positions?
Cardinal Health sponsors H-1B visas as the primary work authorization pathway for Procurement roles. They also support TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying positions, and accommodate F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates early in their procurement careers. Longer-term employees on H-1B may also be supported through EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship as they advance.
What qualifications does Cardinal Health expect for sponsored Procurement roles?
Cardinal Health typically looks for a bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or a related field, often paired with experience in strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, or category management within healthcare, distribution, or manufacturing. Familiarity with enterprise procurement platforms like SAP Ariba is frequently listed in job requirements. Roles at the senior level may expect prior experience managing multi-million-dollar supplier contracts or cross-functional sourcing initiatives.
How does the H-1B sponsorship timeline affect my Procurement job start date at Cardinal Health?
If you need H-1B sponsorship and you're not already in H-1B status, the standard cap-subject lottery means your earliest possible start date is October 1 of the fiscal year you're selected. Cardinal Health would need to submit your registration in March and file the full petition by June if selected. Candidates on F-1 OPT can often start sooner, bridging the gap while the H-1B petition is pending.
