Frame your credentials around regulated supply chains
Cardinal Health operates in pharmaceutical distribution and medical products, which means PMP or PMI certification alone isn't enough. Highlight experience managing projects in FDA-regulated or similarly compliance-heavy environments to match what their hiring teams prioritize.
Target roles tied to distribution network transformation
Cardinal Health regularly hires Project Program Managers to oversee warehouse automation, ERP rollouts, and logistics network redesigns. Applying to postings that reference SAP, Oracle, or distribution center modernization gives you a stronger foothold than general corporate PMO roles.
Verify your OPT timeline before submitting applications
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your remaining authorized period covers a realistic onboarding timeline. Cardinal Health's hiring process for program management roles can run eight to twelve weeks, and starting a role with under six months of OPT remaining complicates H-1B petition planning.
Ask about cap-exempt filing pathways during offer negotiation
Cardinal Health works with hospital systems and nonprofit partners, some of which may qualify as cap-exempt H-1B petitioners under USCIS rules. If a direct hire runs into lottery timing, ask your recruiter whether any affiliated entity could file outside the annual cap.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Project Program Manager roles at Cardinal Health
Cardinal Health posts project and program management openings across multiple business units and locations. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles at Cardinal Health that match your visa type, so you're not manually scanning job boards for sponsorship-confirmed positions.
Prepare a DOL-ready employment history before your offer closes
TN and H-1B petitions require detailed job duty descriptions that DOL and USCIS evaluate for specialty occupation eligibility. Draft a precise breakdown of your project scope, team size, and technical systems managed before you reach the offer stage so your employer's counsel can file quickly.

Find Project Program Manager at Cardinal Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Cardinal Health sponsor H-1B visas for Project Program Managers?
Yes. Cardinal Health has a consistent history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Project Program Manager roles, particularly within its pharmaceutical distribution, medical products, and supply chain operations. Program management positions that require a specific degree field and involve specialized technical or regulatory work generally satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements, which is the core eligibility threshold for H-1B approval.
How do I apply for Project Program Manager jobs at Cardinal Health?
Applications go through Cardinal Health's careers portal at jobs.cardinalhealth.com. Search for program or project management roles and filter by location or business unit. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse Cardinal Health's open Project Program Manager positions filtered by visa type, which saves time if you need to confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying.
Which visa types are commonly used for Project Program Manager roles at Cardinal Health?
H-1B is the most common work visa for this role. Cardinal Health also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates still in their authorized training periods, TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or engineering categories, and EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship for longer-term employees. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree, and how long you've already been in the U.S.
What qualifications does Cardinal Health expect for Project Program Manager roles?
Most postings require a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, information systems, or a related field, plus several years of hands-on project delivery experience. PMP certification is frequently listed as preferred. Experience with ERP platforms like SAP or Oracle and familiarity with distribution, logistics, or pharmaceutical regulatory environments strengthens your application significantly. Cross-functional program leadership and stakeholder management experience are consistently emphasized across postings.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at Cardinal Health?
If you need to enter the H-1B lottery, the annual cap registration window opens in March, with selections announced in late March or April. Approved petitions take effect October 1. Premium processing through USCIS can reduce adjudication to about 15 business days once the petition is filed, which is relevant if you're transitioning from OPT and need status confirmed before your authorized period expires.
